One valve factory I work with is Wenzhou Windmill Valve CO., Ltd.

We are API/CE/ISO approval valve factory in China. We have some good cooperation and experience with some European, Asian and South American companies. Following is details of our company:

Windmill Valve Co., Ltd.,a valve manufacturer, specialized in all kinds of industrial valves, consistently conformed to international and Chinese standards. We gained worldwide market. In the past years, 90% of our products were offered for Europe, America ,Middle East, Southeast Asia. Product quality and service reliability are essential to the success of our business. We strictly control process, such as the purchasing of raw material, the development of innovative designs and the advanced checking and inspection method. We consider it is our company’s life to manufacture nice valves and serve customers.

Why do I want us to become supplier for Walworth Valve? Because they buy the valves we manufacture and we manufacture quality valves. It is a win-win thing. I used to call or write emails to Walworth Valve. They were not interested in me. One time, they even said they do not buy valve from China.

I later know about what I did were cold calls. I am not quite thrilled in doing so now.

When I call some possible customer, what did I run across? The receptionist, if they are kind, they will tell me who I need to talk to and help me transfer; sometimes, they cannot tell me the email or they just denied me or hung up. Sometimes, they do not even say English, which make me hard to talk further.

If I am lucky to talk to some one in the purchase department, sourcing department, sales department, they could tell me that they are not interested in new supplier, or they are not interested in Chinese valve.

Sometimes, I could be lucky, they tell me the email. So I could send them our introduction letter.

I do not mind calling customers, while I am tired of cold calls. It is not productive. I must change. I need to find the right customers and right target. How can I do that? What else should I learn? I thought I should learn marketing.

That is what I am learning now. I listened to some video from my mentors. I am surprised to find that we do not have to make cold calls to attract customers. How possible? The answer is about another way of living: living the laptop lifestyle.
