As an overseas Chinese, flying back to the States from China, I wrote below at my flights.
========================= When time is up, I choose to move on to the next task. I held my tears till I came to the gate No. 70. When I was by myself, I finally let my tears come out. They said sorry to me several times, “sorry that I had to take care of S, could not cook nice meals for you.” (Aunt).. “Sorry that this time, because of me, you did not get to eat much seafood. (Mom). When they said those, I told them that I already had a lot. I really mean that. They do not know that I am thankful for every thing they did for me unconditionally. Those were more than enough. I am not sure if they understand me. I did not explain more. I felt them. I put those feelings into my heart, like treasures, so when I am by myself, I think of how much I was spoiled and loved by all the Chinese relatives and friends. I know, I have more than enough. 1/3
Every one has only 24 hours a day. I choose to move on to the next item, next task, next stop, whatever that means. Many times, I have to wipe out tears after I cry and check on my list, do what is in the next item. “Everything will be fine.” I said to myself. Last time when I went back from China after 2 months’ visit, I cried about 1 month after I got back. I am not sure how it goes this time. While I do know unlike last time, this time, I know what I need to do. ====================
It was a nice trip back to the States. I met two Chinese ladies, mom and daughter. It is their first time to the States. They are moving here. I did my best to be a good flight companion and helped them as much as I could. Did some working, listing, thinking, reading, sleeping and also watched a movie “Bridget Jones’s Baby 2016” .
Getting out of immigrant hall was not long. When one officer said “Welcome back home”, I felt so warm. Thank you.
Overseas Chinese fellows, how was your last trip when you went back from China? How long did you stay in China? How did you move on between these two different countries? How did you feel after you come back to the States? How are you now? I would like to hear something from you. Please leave comments or send me email.
