Do You Regret Moving To The United States – Overseas Chinese?

I love USA. My answer is “No”. My family in China has friends that move to Canada or the States. Many of them like to live in China better, because it is more convenient, crowded and more familiar. While, I am the opposite. I enjoy living in the States.

There are many Chinese moving to the United States. Quite a lot of them do not get used to life here. The most common reply is, “the environment is great, it is just too lonely for me”. Some of them choose to go back to China. While some part of them stay in the States. Among those who stay in the States, quite a lot feel not fit in, surviving. They think they will never belong to the main stream.

I am not here to talk about how great the States is. Every one has his standard and how he feels. I think the first part is you need to ask yourself: “why did you come here?” Once you know your why, can you move on to the next question: “Are you happy living in the States?”

If not, why?

I remember when I was in Flushing, NYC, I was a bit confused. I was surrounded with Chinese people, only those buildings there remind me of where I was. Of course, I enjoyed my time there mainly because of many Chinese restaurants. I was quite content. I usually do not think about missing Chinese food. I simply do not have time focusing on what I do not have.

“Are you lonely? ” It probably is the top emotion that drives people to go back to China. I tell you, once you find out your purpose and your passion, then you start really love yourself, together, you know the self-awareness about your emotion, you will not spend that much feeling lonely. Instead, you will be too busy in self development. When you choose to move to the States, trust it happened for some reason. You can change ideas and move back to China if you think that is a better place for your ideal life. What I am saying is, trust where you are and value what you have at this right moment and make the best out of it.

I met life term friends in the States. I found a world-class community. I learned more about myself. I have world-class mentors and mastermind friends. I also know the ultimate happiness and fulfillment come from serving. It is a life changing game. I live in the south and there are many Black people here. They are just nice, unlike what people in China think. Yes, China is convenient. While, I have no desire spending 2 – 4 hours in a meal, walking on the roads and seeing many people walking there, shopping or looking for entertainment. That is not what my purpose of my life is. I would rather be more lonely here and harness my skills for a higher purpose.

Dear Chinese fellows, enjoy your life in the States, make some friends, serve the community, set some examples, bridge between China and the States. It is your turn to shine! 2/3
