On Feb. 18, 2017, I had my first birthday party. Thank you all! It was really a surprise today. Never ever thought today would turn out like this. I am beyond grateful when I am writing down this blog.

They got me well. I thought it was a birthday party for J. I could not believe my ears when I got there, they said, “it is YOUR birthday party”. I just smiled. I was so thankful for them to arrange this much for me: the food that they spent time in preparing, the cake B made, the perfect roast beef from the famous chef D, the veggies and the kale salad, the gifts and their layout. And, the most important part is who showed up there, who spent time and gave me their attention, time and loving. Specially, I want to thank G for coming out this idea for me. She is close to my mom’s age, only a few days difference. She is like my mother in the USA, helps me since day one we met.

No, I did not cry. I was too happy and I only know to smile when I realized that it was a true birthday party for me. I was a bit shy at first, “Did I deserve this much?” I caught up my mind. I did not expect this, but it does not mean I should question, if I deserved it. I did not want to 1/3

bother people and ask them to do this or that for me. No, it is not that. Just enjoyed the moments. They showed their loving for me and told me, reminded me that someone here loves me. They gave me friendship, family in Columbia. I asked for no more but cannot help feeling so truly blessed and lucky. Did you ever read post like this: “People remember you because how you make them feel. So true. I do feel loving from the Potts, the Prestons and H. You may think Columbia, SC is a remote area on this planet. For me, Columbia gave me a great deal: love, friendship, religion, faith, mentors, family. I thank God for bringing so many wonderful souls in my life.

When I made the birthday wish, I did not make the wish for myself. I made the wish and wish every one there will be happy. I already have a lot. I sure do. At that moment, I did not know to make a quick wish for myself. I simply wished them to be happy and that was my birthday wish of today. May God bless you wherever you are! I know, I am still thinking about the moments this afternoon and I want to keep these in my memory. Just know, like me, you also deserve loving. When you believe that and send out the loving, some day you will receive more. I experienced that. It was magic and it will go into compound effect as long as you keep sending out love.

Like my blog? Please show the love and share it on social media with your friends! Thank you!
