NYC (New York City) Trip of 2015 – Part 3

Sept. 9, 2015 – day 7

Slept at 1:00 am, got up at 7:40. Ate grape, banana. Worked to close to 11:00 am. Train A to 168# street. Then train C to 86# street. Bus M86 to 5th avenue, walked to Gugennheim museum. Stayed to 12:00pm. This is a modern museum. It is round inside. I saw some famous artists’ painting. Some of the artists are Claude Monet, Vincent Van Gogh, Paul Gauguin, Pablo Picasso, Haere Mai?

1/11

Walked to Bella Luna, Italian restaurant. $12.59 Rigatoni Norma. It is delicious.

I had a skype meeting with SFM around at 14:00. Bus M86 back to subway 86# street. Train C to 42# street. Then bus M42 to 12th Ave. I took the wrong direction bus. I was late when I got to the intrepid sea, air & space museum. It was shortly before 16:00 when I exchanged the ticket. The submarine was close. I had only 1 hour. I was debating if I should go ahead. I finally proceeded. Life is not perfect. I had done so well in the trip and it took long to get there. If I really like the museum, I can come back next time. I never saw a ship this big. It was nice. The cruise line was nearby.

2/11

After I left there, like 17:00, I went to the park nearby for a short walk. Before I took M42 bus back to 42# street, I saw a building with Chinese national emblem. I guess that is the Chinese consulate/embassy. Later I found out I was right. $10.83 Carlos bakery, since 1910. I saw this bakery by the subway. Many people were there buying bakery. They were not cheap, a small piece is about usd10, but I had to give a try. I bought a strawberry cheese cake. I was going to share with Lori and drink coffee together.

3/11

The crowd on the street was impressive and I wanted to walk around. I walked totime square. I passed by another cheese cake bakery. But I was not going to buy another one. That was too much. I passed by some theaters. I was not ready for the musical show because of the high cost. But I will go back in future when I have much more savings on my back.

I went to buy two coats at aeropostale.

I passed by shake shack on way back second time. For the first time, it was a long line. I know about shake shack from stock news. While I did not have time to wait online. Since there was no waiting line now, I need to check out. I bought a shake burger, $5.65. It was really good! I love it. Train A back back to 175# street. $6.92 Bravo supermarket ($3.99 apple, $2.93 guayaba de mexico <this is a smaller version of guava>) Home by 21:00. Lori and I shared the cheesecake after 22:05. It was yummy.

Sept. 10, 2015 – day 8 Got up at 8:30. Ate guayaba de mexico, apple, banana. Worked. $31 subway 7 days unlimited refill. Train A to 42# street, 10:45 – 11:10 Train 7 to grand central. Grand central is pretty. I took a glance and went ahead. I could stay longer after I came back. $13 Metro north, round trip, from grand central to New York Botanical Garden. I spent about 5.5 hours there.12:30pm to 17:20. This is my favorite place in new York. It covers 250 acre. Rose garden is my favorite place. It was rainy. Rain was from small to medium. I think every day is by God’s will. It is a perfect day to go to this garden. I like outside ones better. I spent long enough in rose garden. I love the pink one and the light purple one. I saw them, I smelled them. I smiled at them and I kissed one of them.

5/11

While I was waiting for train, I met M. He was patient and told me when the train would arrive. He has some app in his mobile. He has to get up 6 am every day to go to school. He just starts a high school, a preparation one, good school. He likes to go to botanical garden stop for train because of better view. I had good time in talking with him. I am glad to know about him. 18:10, train back to the Grand Central Terminal. I was amazed by this place. It is big and gorgeous. I went to their food court and tried plain cheese cake from Junior’s, $6.95. I like this cheese cake better.

6/11

Then I went to the market in grand central. $8.5 pescastore seafood Co., (spring roll, one is shrimp, the other is lobster.) I took them home and shared with Lori. They were not as good as I thought. Shower after 21:10. Then laundry, $4.25 (2.25 for wash, 2 for dry) Worked.

Sept. 11, 2015 – day 9

Got up at 8:00? Ate guayaba de mexico, apple. Worked. 10:45 subway train A to 145# street, Hamilton Grange. I did not know he was so talented. He served in various fields in USA history.

After 12:15 pm,St. Nicolas park. I found out city college of New York is close by. I did not find anything interesting that I would like to eat. So I did not eat nearby. 135# street, subway C train, 12:35pm to Chamber street. 7/11

$10 Bangal curry new York, Indian restaurant, some goat curry food, rice, eggplant, spinach. It was okay.

Walked to city hall, court house, walked around. Brooklyn bridge is nearby. But I did not have time to go cross again. Park place stop, train 2 to 34# street, 15:10. Then Madison square garden, walked around. There was a basketball game at 19:30 but I had appointment with my cousins. Shopping at H&M . I went to Macy’s. I could not walk further, even I wanted. I rested for a while. Plus I did not have time.

18:00 train 1# to Christopher st. I always found different surprising view when I got out of subway. This time was another surprise for me. I passed by some Japanese restaurant. It seems nice, some like Japanese were waiting outside. I wish I could try the noodle soup. I passed by some ice cream shop. I asked a girl who was sitting outside, eating her icecream with her friend: “is it good?” She nodded. I went inside and bought myself a chocolate icecream, $4.25, big gay icecream. I knew it was shortly before dinner. I could ruin my appetite for dinner. But I might not pass by later. It was not as good as I thought, but it was not bad. I just could not tell how good it was. Then, I passed a bakery, later I found out it was magnolia bakery. Some couple that do not speak English were standing outside, the husband, told me this bakery is great and it is shown in the movie. I went inside. They look attractive. Some Chinese father was taking photo for his daughter. I learned that it is close at midnight. Then I knew that I could have a chance on way back. Well, I did not have time. I must go look for the restaurant to meet up with my cousins.

8/11

That restaurant is Frankie’s 570 Italian restaurant. I quickly found it. H, R showed up soon, then J, P. arrived at. Yes, we were going to meet there that night at 19:00. They ordered different dishes and made sure I tried every dish. They were so nice to me!! Food tasted great. We sat inside, kind of dark, noisy, with candles on table. I had a good time there! They drank some wine, because it was Friday! $20 cash, dutch. The whole dinner cost over 220 usd, excluding tips. We took some photos after we went out.

At about 21:00, we departed. $9.50 magnolia bakery. P, R, H and I walked on way back. I saw this bakery and I asked them if I could drop by. H told me that this is the same bakery she mentioned to me on the other day. I bought myself some cheese creamy brownie, H and R took some cup cake. P did not want any. H took some nice photo for me. I really like one of them with my big smile.

9/11

Before P said goodbye, she showed us one famous gay bar across the road. R, H and I took train 1 to 59th street. They were going to get their car. They walked me to train A before we said bye. So nice of them!! I enjoyed spending time with them tonight. R said I am wise. That was a great compliment. Train A to 175# street, home by 22.25. Coffee.. Shower. Lori went to spend weekend to her boyfriend. So I was alone. I planned to see her off by 15:30, but I could not make it. I was far away, in downtown, also close to tonight’s appointment. Thanks to Lori, the home is sweet and comfortable. To be continued. Like my blog? Found it helpful for your NYC trip? Please send some love and share in social media. Thank you.
