The Habit Of Going The Extra Mile – Successful Habit
I sometimes had this habit, just did not know it is called “The Habit Of Going The Extra Mile” until last year, when I started knowing more about self development.
The one I used the best was when I was a wife for about 10 years. Even my ex-husband told me that “you are a wonderful wife”. For 99% during the marriage, every day, I would go extra mile for him. If you ask me this question: “What would you do if you know for 100% sure that you will succeed?” My answer is “a wife”. That is how much confident I have in myself and know how to be a great wife. Well, I failed. What I learned, one of the lessons, is I should have my boundary and not lose myself, know the self-love.

Now, this is not what I want to talk. What I want to talk is how I understand about “going extra mile” and why it is such a good habit that every one should execute in his life.
Before you can have the freedom to do whatever you want, whenever you want, you will have to understand to implement this in your life and job. At your job, you are paid for certain amount. Do you worth that payment? If not, do you think you must do more? If yes, do you know you can do more? In your relationship, do you know you can do more for the other person, in which way? In your life, do you know you can be nice to someone every day and do something good and expect nothing for return?

When I started as independent sales representative for the industrial valve, when I had only 1 possible customer, I went extra mile to source the valves. When customer does not want just the industrial valve, he wants flange, pipe, fitting, I went extra mile to source them and deliver together. Is it hard to go the extra mile? No. Every one can do it. Just not every one would do it. Or not do it in every part in his life.
Why not? Maybe because of no time, maybe they focus more on what they cannot receive in short term. What other reasons can you think of?
The habit of going the extra mile is like to stretch yourself. You are quite flexible and you have a great potential to reach a bit further of the present moment. The more you train yourself go extra, the more you can do. Trust that there is something greater out there when you always choose to go the extra mile.
