THENEIGHBOURHOOD 3 THINGS RESIDENTS LOVE ABOUT REGENT PARK Regent Park Aquatic Centre

Built to serve as a venue for the Pan Am games, now the Regent Park Aquatic Centre is a wonderful community gem, allowing area residents and their children to learn to swim, and enjoy the water. And best of all, it's FREE!

Daniels Spectrum Daniels Spectrum is a community cultural hub in Toronto’s Regent Park neighbourhood. It opened to the public in September 2012. “Rooted in Regent Park, Open to the World,” Daniels Spectrum is home to many outstanding arts-based and communityfocused organizations. Its event, performance and exhibition spaces include Ada Slaight Hall, the Artscape Lounge on the main floor, a network of hallway galleries and the Courtyard.

Regent Park Community Centre

3 FACTS ABOUT THE NEW REVITALIZED REGENT PARK 1. Awesome amenities: Regent Park boasts arguably the best community amenities in Toronto, including: Regent Park Aquatic Centre; a six-acre park with bake oven and greenhouse; Daniels Spectrum arts and culture facility; a 60,000-square-foot community centre; and the Regent Park Athletics Grounds, with a soccer field that converts to a cricket pitch, a new basketball court, plus a refurbished ice rink. 2. Unlocked grid: In accordance with Garden City urban design principles, old Regent Park had its street grid removed and its housing blocks faced inward. Supposedly safer, it ended up creating an isolated and crime-ridden ghetto. Bringing back the original grid restored community connections and vibrancy to the streets. 3. Commercial comeback: Old Regent Park didn’t have commercial space, forming what Daniels vice-president Martin Blake calls an “economic moat” around the community. New retailers (including Shoppers Drug Mart, FreshCo by Sobeys, Tim Hortons, RBC, and Rogers) and Regent Park’s first restaurant are driving the revitalization while providing training and jobs for local talent.

Spanning just over 59,000 sq. ft. the new Regent Park Community Centre features recreation facilities, an employment centre, child care centre and connections to Nelson Mandela Park Public School.

3 REASONS TO LOVE THIS CONDO Great Transit ACCESS

TORONTO LIFE Magazine reports that Regent Park is one of Toronto's better neighbourhoods for transit access. They indicate it boasts 35 Streetcar and Bus stops per square kilometre. So the Red Rocket is rarely far away when you live in Regent Park.

Lots to choose from including the soccer pitch, basketball courts, and hockey rink. Regent Park is an outdoor enthusiasts dream because you are close to the core, but good urban planning has created lots of green space and recreational space. There's always something to do outdoors within walking distance when you live at Regent Park..

Healthcare You are within easy transit or driving distance to many of the leading hospitals in Canada. Healthcare is huge, access to world leading healthcare is priceless.

RIGHT NEXT DOOR TO CABBAGETOWN Parliament is one of those Toronto streets that has real soul. Like a few other streets I've written about, between Gerrard and Wellesely, Parliament has the character of a main street, serving a community which has been built around it. And this is, of course, the case for the most part. While the street originated as a trail that John Graves Simcoe would use to commute from the parliament buildings to Castle Frank, by the early 20th century it had developed a vibrant commercial scene to the north and a booming industrial presence to the south. Today Parliament Street, particularly between Gerrard St and Wellesley, is a lovely area to wander on a sunny Saturday or Sunday afternoon, where many long-time residents know each other and say hello. You also have a Home Hardware store and a myriad of Cafe's and restaurants to enjoy.

At age 17 Jim started his first company, selling it successfully 7 years later at age 24. Then Jim totally switched directions, joining a small Quebec based start-up. After a few years of dedicated effort, Jim helped that company to drive dramatic sales growth across Canada, which led to his appointment overseeing sales growth in the USA and internationally. He credits those years with teaching him the art of negotiation. Jim uses these skills everyday to help his clients.
