ARCHITECTURE PORTFOLIO JING GUO
Every great architect is - necessarily - a great poet. He must be a great original interpreter of his time, his day, his age. -----Frank Lloyd Wright Although my architecture advanture started from my master degree, I finally find that this career is what I want to be in the future. And I will keep this quote in mind to navigate my architecture journey.

Martial art does not only practice the physical body, also can polish people’s will. Between the nature and humen, there are lots of connection that can be discoveried in our daily life. Kongfu melt the nature’s power into its spirit level. Ancient tree’s growth ring perfectly explan this time-comsuming outcome. Hard working and strong will enable the Kongfuer’s spirit level.
My concept is focusing on the training area to provide the special experience with space and light. In order to express the faith of Kongfu, this multiple-layered growth ring form provides the light from green roof into the main training area. When you look up, the whole impressive form illustrated how hard it will be. Growth needs more tough experience.

The whole massing integated into landscape. With this smooth edge, people can be easily introduced to the inner space. Or they can walk to the lower level to anther alley. The Green roof can privde a quite space and spectacular view. And also the roof pond create a special environment for outside and inside. The skylight will across the pond to leave water-texture shadow on the main training area.
Physical Model Details
The slope to lower level creates a nice spatial experience when people walk through there. The light and shadow integrated with curve edges is really a new feeling.
The curve walls is driven by the central form and programs. This unique space let people explore the interior by themselves.

Due to the condition of this site, the skyscraper also addressed two communities’ issue. The site is between the Pendleton art district and mountain island area, and these two disconnected areas are cut by the intersection highway system. Perspective view from Revit model Summer intern architect in GBBN architecture, I mainly focused on revit modeling and Cad plans in Schematic Design and Design Development stage. This renovation and restoration project has complex program and limited resources for transfering 1930 drawing to BIM. I worked with Revit team to model the site part, interior slab and detail componets in the building.

Perkins Eastman
Spring intern architect in Perkins Eastman New York office, I helped team to produce Revit construction documents for New York Methodist’s new heathcare building. Using Revit to generate facade area data and tranfering Cad drawing to Revit file for building requirement are also my duty during this intern. Sometimes I helped team to produce detail drawings in Revit.

Spatial Innovation between Studio Desks Group Project: Alex bucher, Minh Dung Le This warm-up exercise at the beginning of semester focuses on how to create a friendly space between each other and how to use these facilities we created to affect our generic studio desks. Using this narrow space to design a interactive environment for us is really meaningful for thinking about spatial relationship and how to apply this idea to a large scaled architecture.
Lazy Susan System
Due to our discussion, we discovered all of us like drinking tea when we work on the intensive studio project. At the end of our research, we got a commen sense that how to create a interactive space for sharing tea in the rest of semester. So we design these double lasy susan system for sharing tea and storage. Each of us can easily reach out this area. And all of PVC tubes between desks are for store tea utensil and other stuffs. The shelf under the lazy susan is for storing our large drawing sheets or posters.
