INTRODUCTION THE PERFORMING ARTS AND LEARNING COMMUNITY CENTRE
This project is located in Batu 12, Gombak. Located directly opposite of the Orang Asli Museum, and surrounded by orang asli villages, this attracts both the locals and foreigners to visit there often to understand more of the aboriginal people from our country. Hence, taking advantage of what the site has given to offered, i have come out with a proposal of setting up a performing arts and learning centre right opposite the museum which is the car park site. The community centre, cent aim to educate locals and foreigners, from nearby or from the city. This community centre primarily promotes per- forming arts from the aboriginal people as their culture and history are rich and it ties back to a very long line of history background from where were they originated from. Musics, dance and weaving arts are the main entertainment that ties them all together, hence by using this as the main focus, through this community centre, people can watch them perform , as well as learning their art from the aboriginals. Not only that, the aboriginals are also very fond of the modern art and entertainment such as having a live performing concert and watching movies. They are very keen in learning and getting into the modern world. For the older generations, they would hope that their younger generation will succeed in the world and also they wished for a better environment and better education for their younger ones. Therefore, by usng this, the community centre has also offered education classes or tuition classes for their youngersters to learn more than what they know in school and also to learn in a fun way so that they won’t get bored out. The centre cent comprises of multi-purpose theatre, JAKOA office, a canteen, classrooms and a theatre, where every block sum up together, the total gross floor area would be around 800 square metre. In this set of drawings, working drawings of the canteen, JAKOA office and the classrooms are presented. Changes i material and building technology has been done and it shall be explain further in detail from the following pages.
