“EVERYONE THEN WHO HEARS THESE WORDS OF MINE AND DOES THEM WILL BE LIKE A WISE MAN WHO BUILT HIS HOUSE ON THE ROCK.”
THE ROCK
Can we be honest? This quote
asks a question that we ALL long to know the answer to— Christian or not.
Why was I born? What is my purpose? “When I was a child, I spoke like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I gave up childish ways.” – 1 Cor. 13:11
There are many times in our lives when this question becomes a more important piece in our search for discovery, but none quite like the years of adolescence. I’m not just talking puberty to 18. See, adolescence is becoming a larger and larger age range. Some define the issue as extended adolescence when “young adults” don’t leave their parents nest until 26 or later. This isn’t a bad thing if you like having your kids in the house, but it does reflect a major problem with identity and purpose.
