TAN TALKS! Welcome to the second issue of Tan Talks – Norvell Tanning’s quarterly newsletter for all the latest updates in the tanning world! It’s finally Summer here in the UK which means it’s one of the busiest times of the year for Professional Spray Tan artists, salons and tanning brands alike. In this issue we will be sharing Norvell Celebrity Ambassador Kristina Rihanoff’s Top Summer Picks; introducing our BRAND NEW Ultra Vivid Colour Collection; as well as sharing tips and tricks from Norvell HQ and announcing the deserving winners of our Salon and Tanner of the Season Awards!

TANNING TIPS! Norvell Tanning Representative Gemma Spinks talks us through her top tips for sunless tanning in Summer 2018… Hydration is key: “Tanning products along with the sun can be quite dehydrating for the skin, so make sure that you are drinking plenty of water. You can also use the Boost in the Ultra Vivid Colour Collection (mentioned overleaf) to enhance and prolong your tan without dehydrating it.” Make the most of your sunless tan: “When on holiday, I also lightly exfoliate my skin each every 3 days when on holiday to remove any unwanted sun cream and keep on top of my skin shedding/peeling. Normal high street moisturisers can contain a lot of oil - and oil strips tan - so be very careful in the products that you choose whilst maintaining your sunless colour.” Keep it looking natural: “The most important thing when choosing a tanning product is to choose one that is suitable for your skin type.
Don’t choose a tan that is too dark for you! To keep a tan looking as natural as possible only take your skin one to two shades darker than your natural tone. If you already have a base colour to your skin try a tan that contains a violet base. Violet counteracts any orange brassy tones appearing. Norvell’s Venetian range is perfect for this!”

Renew Exfoliating Prep Mitt: Mobile tanners will rejoice upon tryingthe Renew Mitt – handy is an understatement! Carry this with you to last-minute appointments and wipe across the client’s skin gently to eliminate dead skin cells and boost amino acids levels. STRICTLY COME DANCING TOUR
THROWBACK! We loved spray tanning all the celebrities and dancers for the 2018 Strictly Come Dancing Tour earlier this year. The most popular spray tan solution used was the Premium solution in Double Dark and the Venetian Plus Sunless solution for the perfect dark, HD quality tan. Here are some of our favourite highlights of the show.
SPA WITH YOUR MA! We’re throwing it back to a fabulous event in March, where we were able to tan lots of lovely Celebrities, Influencers, bloggers & vloggers for Alex Silver PR’s Annual Mother’s Day Pamper Party! The event took place at the amazing Café De Paris in London. Guests on the day included Norvell Ambassador Kristina Rihanoff, Love Island’s Olivia Attwood, TOWIE’s Courtney Green and Chloe Meadows, Gillian McKeith, Samantha Fox and Gail Porter. The lovely Gail Porter had a custom spray tan by one of Norvell’s Professional Tanning Artists Carrie Marsh. Carrie used a mixture of Double Dark Premium Solution and Venetian Solution on Gail for a perfect party bronze. Gail said “The tan is superb. It’s now tricky for me to tell everyone I was stuck in Scotland for a week, as I look like I’ve been in Barbados for 2! (The lovely Sam Fox walked in half way through the tanning process…slightly embarrassing greeting your old mate while been sprayed and wearing nothing but the pants!)” A fabulous night was had by all, and Norvell loved seeing – and spraying – the Pamper Party guests!

Former strictly dancer kristina rihanoff reveals her top tanning tips
t’s been two years since Kristina Rihanoff stepped away from the Strictly Come Dancing ballroom, but she’s kept up the glitz and glamour as the new brand ambassador of Norvell Tanning. Kristina is familiar with the perils of brandishing that self-tan mitt – from streaky skin to the lingering smell of biscuits, we’ve all been there. Norvell Tanning offers tanning products in spray, mousse and mist form to give us all a showstopping, sun-kissed glow no matter what the weather, or occasion. “As a competitive dancer I’ve used a lot of fake tan in my life,” she says. “There is no better than Norvell. It’s a great colour, it’s good to my skin and it makes me feel amazing.” The brand has their very own Strictly range, and Kristina has been using her favourite products on tour in her stage show, Dance To The Music. Here, the 40-year-old mum-of-one, whose partner is former rugby player Ben Cohen, chats to TV Life about the perks of fake tan, motherhood and taking care of her body…

Do you fake tan even when you’re not working? I do keep it up. It’s part of my life now as I’ve been dancing for such a long time. Tanning goes along with my beauty regime. A spray tan gives me confidence. It picks me up and makes me feel good, especially during the winter months. It defines my muscles and gives me a healthy glow. What are your top tips for successful tan application? Exfoliate before you apply and moisturise your skin between tans. If your skin is dry, your tan will come off quicker. If you use Norvell Body Butter, the tan will apply much more evenly. What are your other musthave beauty products? This tan is number one. I can’t go on stage without it. Next in line is false eyelashes. They were popular with dancers for years and now we all wear them. They’re so easy to put on for a night out. Do you have a favourite make-up brand? I love Iconic London. It has a beautiful palette with different shades for your perfect tan. I tan my body but I don’t tan my face, so the palette creates the perfect match. My make-up has a lot of warm tones. Do you wear much make-up when you’re not working? No, none at all. I like to let my skin breathe. When I’m on tour I have to pile on make-up every evening, so it’s nice to go bare and apply just a little moisturiser. I look quite different without make-up on! How would you describe your style on and off stage? During the day I like to wear comfortable clothing, like sportswear. It’s easy to put on when I take my little one to nursery or go to the shops. It’s not very glamorous at

You’re working with Norvell – what attracted you to the brand? I was a competitive dancer long before Strictly. I’m always looking for the best fake tan on the market. It’s important for me to use a good product on my skin. It has to suit my beliefs, too, because I’m vegan. I always look for the best colour, too. No one likes being an orange! I’ve used a lot of different fake tan, but Norvell always comes out on top. How often do you apply fake tan? When I’m on tour I apply tan once every 10 days as I’m on stage every single night. The spray tan works into your skin very well. I exfoliate really well before applying my tan, then maintain it with the Norvell body butter. It keeps my skin moist. The colour of the tan is so beautiful. I look like I’ve been on vacation all the time. How important is fake tan to you? When I danced on Strictly, having a good tan was so important. The show was
all. I’m like any other mum on the go. I love to wear evening dresses on the red carpet. I wear my own dress designs in collaboration with Pia Michi. I’m inspired by the simple feminine cuts from Hollywood in the 50s and 60s. How has being a mum changed your beauty routine and also your style? It changed dramatically when my daughter arrived. I didn’t even think

about my beauty regime. I’m not sure I remembered my name! Looking after myself is part of my job so when I found out I was pregnant I started looking into the best products for my body and my baby. I try to use organic and vegan skincare. Do you diet? I went vegan in July last year. I’d been heading that way for a while. I like to eat plenty of fruit and vegetables. I didn’t eat meat anyway. You have an amazing figure.What’s your workout regime like? When I’m on tour, I dance for two hours a day. I’m probably in the best shape of my life right now. I never thought I could get my figure back after having my baby, but I did. I would love to start teaching yoga again. I’ve been practicing for nearly 20 years. I love it so much and my body responds to it. How do you juggle everything now you’re back touring? It’s hard to be on the road, but my shows wouldn’t happen without the support of my whole family. It was a big dream to do the Dance To The Music tour. They knew how much it meant to me, but it did put some pressure on us, too. I drive a lot. I can’t count how many times I’ve driven around the country. It’s how I release my adrenaline after a show and manage to stay at home with my little one. What else are you working on at the moment? With the tour over I’m spending time at home and enjoying being mum to Mila. There’s so much on the horizon. I’m working on a personal project with Ben, creating our own well-being centre to host yoga classes and workouts. I want to create a holistic approach to exercise.
