Shop local this holiday season As I write this introduction, I’m working from my favourite coffee shop listening to its owner chat easily with customers, and watching people come and go with fabulous finds from just some of our area’s independent retailers. As someone passionate about buying local, it’s wonderful to see so many others who clearly feel the same way.

We are so lucky to live where we do. The Limestone City has an endless selection of restaurants and retailers offering everything from jewelry and shoes (that provided a terrific opportunity to drop a not-so-subtle hint to my husband!), to items for the home and the whole lot in between. Even better, Brockville, Westport, Napanee and Prince Edward County are just short drives away. With Christmas quickly approaching, it’s nice to know that gift giving doesn’t have to be taxing.
