ABOUT
Celebrate the wackiness in every family with the best-selling Broadway musical adapted for middle school-age performers! Wednesday Addams, the ultimate princess of darkness, has grown up and fallen in love with a sweet, smart young man from a respectable family whom her parents have never met. She confides in her father and begs him not to tell her mother. Now, Gomez Addams must do something he’s never done before– keep a secret from his beloved wife, Morticia. Everything will change for the whole family on the fateful night they host a dinner for Wednesday’s “normal” boyfriend and his parents.

DIRECTOR’S NOTE:
Welcome to The Addams Family!
This is a wonderfully weird show with quirky characters, amazing songs, and a lively storyline.
Besides their affinity for darkness, there is so much to learn from this family. They are unapologetically themselves, embrace each other completely, and when faced with conflict, they always overcome. This process – from auditions to this final week of tech rehearsals – continually taught us to do the same. We are incredibly proud of every member of this cast and crew who have come together to make our own, equally unique, Addams family.
This experience has been truly rewarding, getting to collaborate not only with our production team, but with the students as well on their vision for their roles. We are so grateful for the opportunity to work together and put on this show with an amazing team.
Many thanks to Sacred Heart School for the Arts and its incredible leadership and staff for their unending support and behind-the-scenes magic. To our set designer, costume designer, parent volunteers, and lighting and sound tech team: You have been a joy to work with, thank you for bringing our creative vision to life. Thank you to the cast for all your hard work, creativity and embracing the ‘weird’; and thank you to our extraordinarily adept stage manager, always keeping us on track.
Now, sit back, relax, let your spine tingle, feel free to snap along, and please enjoy SHSA’s production of The Addams Family!
