Background I am a trained Broadcast Specialist for the SD Army National Guard but I also cover events as a Print Journalist; taking photos and writing stories for release. Many of my stories have been picked up, highlighted and published on national websites. I have also had the opportunity to work in the Visual Information Office on part-time orders for over three years. In the VIO I have had the opportunity to develop design skills that have been used across the state in several departments.

I worked with a team on developing internal and public relations logos. These two samples are logo concepts that I came up with and then our team helped finalize the design.

Signs South Dakota National Guard Youth Program Developing tomorrow’s leaders from today’s young heroes
The South Dakota National Guard Youth Program was implemented by the National Guard Bureau in 2001. We have grown tremendously since that time. The goal of our program is to support the social, emotional and academic needs of military children and youth in South Dakota. We strive to do this by implementing programs and activities that promote leadership and character development, build confidence and help youth connect with other military youth throughout the state and better understand their role as a military child. We also provide information and resources to youth and their families and partner with other organizations.
