AIRFLOW DIRECTION
Designing the Server Spaces using aisle Containment systems to reduce data centre cooling costs and improve energy efficience. By preventing cold air mixing with hot exhaust air, the efficiency of the data centre’s cooling system can be greatly improved. Hot Aisle Containment encloses the hot aisle and directs the hot exhaust air out, I will be using the circular pods located above within the landscape as air exhausts to extract the warm air out from the server units.

The equipment has been arranged in a way, inspired by Dr Robert (Doctor Bob) Sullivan, that allows for front to front and rear to rear configuration to create hot aisles and cold isles. This practice to supply cold air needed to equipment and manage the heat output efficiently is implemented across all of the data centre spaces. This configuration will optimize cooling effectiveness and efficiency by ensuring that only cold supply air is delivered to equipment inlets via Earth tubes and warm air will be extracted via the circular heat exchangers.
