Current Situation The current signage system for the Art Institute of Tampa, and South University is very minimal. Based on Metallic, and plastic signs to indicate room numbers, room names, there schedules, the rooms use, and rules or regulations within the room. For particular areas of the building per campus, window stickers are used to indentify or serve as a potential signage marker for that specific area. However there is no clear definition as to where each campus begins or ends. Nor a clear representation of each schools coresponding brand to aid visitors as a target for location.

Factors to consider within the implemented system on interior and exterior levels of the building:

On the exterior, limitations also are communicated with the system to aide all visiting the building. The system focuses on communicating, the name of the park located within the campus complex. As well as communicating other facilites within this complex, all but the Art Institute of Tampa’s. The color scheme for the wayfind goes from, blue and grey to black with white type. The Signage is only available before parking areas, not within.

• The current system communicates no direction.

• The current system established lacks effective signage, and a wayfinding strategy that could successfully lead anyone to their destination within the building. • The current system relies on Similar signage throughout the building without proper indication of what campus occupies that location. This leads to confusion and no sign of awareness to what the room is used for.

• The Lack of direction will foreshadow aimless walking of visitors to areas of the building not neccesary by the visitor. • There is a lack of communication on key locations immediatly for a better navagation for temporary visitors. • Multiple signs, no clear hiearchy placed on all signs placed on a plane. Can be cost effective.

Ethnography After analyzing traffic flow and visitors to the building The Ethnography of both campuses varies from permanent staff and students, to temporary visitors . The variations of both campuses entering and exiting the Building simultaneously involves Doctors, Students, and deliverymen. As well as first time visitors attending appointments at specific locations in the building. The traffic flow is high, without guidance to aid for Faster, quicker arrival to any location on campus.

Traffic Flow Floor 1 The map to the left references the traffic flow in the 1st Floor. The chaos that is caused by busy hallways enforces the idea that wondering occurs because of no present wayfinding system to properly lead to each location. The system applied only allows for long transits to key points on floor 1.

Traffic Flow Floor 2 The map to the left references the traffic flow in the 2ndt Floor. In this graphic illustration of flow for the second floor allows to understand the key points of transit and their exits. Along with Floor 1, chaos is caused by no awarness of navigation. This system applied allows for long transits and unawarness of potential communication with the 1st and 2nd floor.

The map to the left references the traffic flow in the parking lots for both schools. Also presented is the possible routes of navigation, for visitors to the campus building. Insufficient signage and wayfinding allows for guessing and additional research to understand the location.
