WOODBURY COMMUNITY CHURCH DESIGN GUIDELINES THE DESIGN GUIDELINES These guidelines describe the visual and verbal elements that represent Woodbury Community Church’s identity. This includes our name, logo and other elements such as color, type and graphics. Sending a consistent and controlled message of who we are is essential to presenting a strong, unified image of our community. These guidelines reflect Woodbury Community Church’s commitment to quality, consitency and style.

The Woodbury Community Church brand, including the logo, name, colors and identifying elements, are valuable assets. Each of us is responsible for protecting the company’s interests by preventing unauthorized or incorrect use of the Woodbury Community Church’s name and marks.

LOGO INTRODUCTION Our Logo is the key building block of our identity, the primary visual element that identifies us. The signature is a combination

of the the symbol itself and our company name – they have a fixed relationship that should never be changed in any way.

THE FULL LOGOTYPE The Woodbury Community Church Logo comprises two elements, the logo symbol and logo type. The Logo Symbol is a powerful image evoking a sense of togetherness and community. It represents our rooted history in the Bible, but ties in modern vibes for a perfectly balanced mark. The Logo Type has been carefully chosen for its modern and yet refined, highly legible style, which has been further enhanced by the use of upper case letters. The typeface is Brandon Grotesque and has also been chosen to compliment and balance perfectly with the logo symbol.

The WCC logo is presented through the use of color as well as shape and form. We have three strong brand colors. They’re a fresh blend—showing our modern and timeless approach to our brand.

1) The Logo Symbol Consists of a beautiful balance between traditional style elements and modern, fresh design. 2) The Logo Type Carefully chosen for its modern and clean look, which has been further enhanced by the use of upper case letters in our deep toned plum brand color. The font that is used here is Brandon Grotesque.

The general Logo The main logo is the dark logo used on white or light backround. For darker backrounds you will find an alternative on the following page.

OUR BRAND FONT SIMPLE & MODERN Typography plays an important role in communicating an overall tone and quality. Careful use of typography reinforces our personality and ensures clarity and harmony in all Woodbury Commuity

Church communications. We have selected Brandon Grotesque as our primary font and Montserrat as our secondary font to use in our communications.

WHEN TO USE WHICH FONT Brandon Grotesque is our primary font and should be used first in all communications. We use it in a variety of weigths to suit our needs. However, because Brandon

Grotesque is a paid font, we will use Montserrat (a free font) in it’s place as needed. The treatment and styling will be the same.

THE PRIMARY COLOR SYSTEM AND COLOR CODES THE COLOR SYSTEM Color plays an important role in the Woodbury Community Church brand. The colors here are recommendations for various media. A palette of primary colors has been developed, which comprise the “One Voice� color scheme. Consistent use of these colors will contribute to the cohesive

and harmonious look of the Woodbury Community Church brand identity across all communications. These colors bring a fresh and vibrant voice to our brand.

PHOTOGRAPH STYLE & TONE OUR IMAGE SYSTEM Our imagery shows a real view of our community and the people involved in our church. We capture every day moments not only in our church, but in the everyday lives of the people who attend. Our tone is

inviting and bright—fresh and engaging. We include a variety of people: singles, families, friends—and environmental shots to set the mood.

OUR ICONOGRAPHY THE ICONOGRAPHY SYSTEM Our icon set allows us to incorporate further storytelling elements into our design. They can compliment a section of text, or stand alone to convey a particular idea.

Styling should always be a thin line treatment and can be use alone or as white line-art on a solid brand colored background.

Our patterns add an additonal element of design to all we do. They are never required, but are to be used where approriate to add color & interest. Usage should always

be subtle and used as a secondary design element. Patterns may be used as colored line-art, or white line-art on a solid brand colored background.

follow—to best help keep all communication materials consistent and cohesive in look & feel.

Small Groups Youth

A FEW STYLING SUGGESTIONS

Ministry Design: - Type set in Upper/Lower, Brandon Grotesque, Light - WCC Graphic logo leads each ministry

Compassion

- Photography should be wisely selected to match the age group & audience for each (Example: Childrens Ministry should include photos of laughing, playful children— Compassion Ministry should feature photos for us and our partners in action, serving.

Small Groups

- These Title-treatments should always be used to represent Ministries. Surrounding graphics can be more flexible if needed to cater to a specific group—though we recommend keeping designs clean, simple and as close to the main brand as possible.

Youth Compassion

- An alternate reversed styling is shown to use as needed. This version can be used when it better fits the layout design.
