DON’T MAKE HER WEAR THAT Women don’t deserve to wear bruises. A Day in Mae statement jewelry is making a strong statement to stop violence against women. On the 25th May 2015 A Day In Mae is joining forces with White Ribbon to to raise awareness and support against violence to women. Founder Joanna Mae Lim started the company to enable women to create art. She stands by her initial business objective, which is to give women the power to make a statement by creating a piece that represents who they are strong and confident. Megan Scanlon feminist and fashion fanatic states her excitement, “I am proud to be a part of this. A Day In Mae has done great to stop this serious issue. No women deserve to be treated with violence.” One of the announcements from the founder says, the company has hired 103 women who has been affected by violence in India and Vietnam to come into their India and Vietnam headquarters to learn new skills, create strong support group of these women and have income to support their families.
CAUSE-RELATED MARKETING STRATEGY PART ONE: Product • Lace necklace piece made especially for the cause and event. To be sold with all proceeds going to the White Ribbon Foundation. Other products purchased have 15% proceeds to White Ribbon. PART TWO: Advertising & Promotion • Cause-related advertisement campaign • Online advertising: Web banner, web page • Outdoor advertising: Billboard, subway poster, street poster • Social media: Facebook event, Instragram • Interactive promotion: Interactive kiosk display where women can choose to stand in front of the display and see their faces covered in bruises and cuts to gain awareness on women and abuse and create some empathy for the victims. PART THREE: Event • ‘No excuse for Abuse’ black tie charity event.
