JoAnne Artman Gallery is pleased to present LOOKING AHEAD: WOMEN TO WATCH 2025, a dynamic group exhibition showcasing women artists on the rise. Curated by gallery artist Mary Finlayson, the exhibition incorporates nature, organic shapes, bold textures, and deconstructed patterns to develop cohesivenarrativesacrossmediums. LOOKING AHEAD: WOMEN TO WATCH 2025 will be featuring significant works by six incrediblefemaleartists: Fernanda Martinez, Mary Finlayson, Meghan Shimek, Rebecca Kaufman, Sofia Shu, and Carmen McNall.
The featured artists all share a strong connection to the San Francisco Bay Area. Their personal works reflect the intimate contexts driving their creative passions, as well as the global scope of their individual practices. While these artists are comfortable with their ties to the Bay Area, either as a place of birth or a space of cultural significance and connection, their work initiates a dialogue surrounding interpersonal relationships, environments, and what ultimately ties us to our communities.
Through their diverse styles and mediums, these artists reflect innovativespiritandculturalrichness,makingforacelebration ofbothindividualtalentandcollectivecreativity.
