Page 1

I am Tina Russell, a mother of 3 – Burnell (29), Jeremy (27), and Makayla (19) and G-Nana of 6 precious grandkids (3 boys and 3 girls) and to 4 precious boys whom I claim as mine and love just as much. I have a family history of cancer. My mother was diagnosed with breast cancer February 2009 and my father diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer August 2011, later to lose his earthly life to cancer and to gain his Heavenly life with God Sept 2012. I was diagnosed a year later, August 2013 with Triple Negative Breast Cancer DCIS stage 1. I underwent a left mastectomy. I love traveling, camping, the outdoors, and supporting the grandkids with their extracurricular activities. I am very active with several cancer organizations and support groups by mentoring women who are diagnosed with breast cancer by providing hope – my way of giving back. My hope is to see a decline in newly diagnosed cases of breast cancer and all cancers with the funding that is received through private donations or government funding for research and not paying CEO’s salary.

ELSIE VILLERY Elsie Villery is from Beaumont, TX by the way of Lake Charles, LA. I was married for 48 1/2 years to my wonderful husband Don Villery whom passed away 9 years ago. We are blessed with three children; two daughters and a son who passed away 24 years ago. They have blessed me with 8 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. I THANK GOD EVERY DAY THAT AT 76 YEARS OLD I CAN STILL ENJOY ALL OF THEM. I will celebrate 3 years cancer free this December 15th. In August 2015, I called to schedule my mammogram and was told that I was scheduled for March because they were watching something. I got upset because I wasn’t informed that they were watching something. I called my doctor to schedule a diagnostic mammogram which showed a small spot in my milk duct, but it was encased in calcium and was a high grade. I was informed to go see an oncologist who ordered a lumpectomy on December 15th. I had 33 rounds of radiation from the end of January thru February. My heart doctor called me afterwards an told me I needed a defibrillator/pace maker, but God is good I am here today. I am very active in mu parish St. Pius X Catholic Church for over 57 years serving in different areas of the church ministries and active in the City of Beaumont.
