he Northern quarter is a section in Manchester which is known for its art and music scene. There are a wide range of art shops, vintage clothes shops, pubs and restaurants and It is generally well known for being ‘cool’. I would even go as far to say there are certain people who even look “Northern quarter” All this is great, however recently the area has been targeted by big buiness. Now even people that eat KFC and listen to the radio are speading their wings through the area. Similar to the demise of Ian Curtis, the northern quarter could loose its way. Inner city Salford could be a new safe haven for arty farty types. Chapel street being the main road into the centre makes it a perfect location. Its going to be a long time before there is a Mc Donalds in the Northern Quarter, but we are well on our way. Similar to the Northern Quarter in Brazillia they have an area which is called Conic.

Manchester is known for its dry wit. Its funny that we live in such a wet place but our wit is so incredidully dry. John Cooper Clarke was a Salfordian who was known for his humorous poetry, if you wanted to get a feel for Manchester listen to his music / poems. In my opinion humorous art is grossly undervalued in our society. It should be taken seriously!

Cycling in Manchester in my opinion is the quickest way of getting around the city with options of many cycling lanes,
In Brasilia cycling is very much the same it has many
cycle lanes to get around the city and has a large cycling community just the same as Manchester
It also has a fast growing cycling community with groups that suites all riding styles.
And if you was ever just visiting the cites and you didn’t pack your bicycle both Brasilia and Manchester have city bicycles you can rent out for the day, so you can explore both cities.
