FADE SPRING/SUMMER 2012/2013 BY JOELLIE LIN

I was inspired by this image by Dan Mountford, I’m not too sure what he was trying to convey exactly, or if he is at all, it might be a purely aesthetic piece. This to me feels like the idea of slowly being forgotten, a person slowly being faded out of one’s memory, from solid to a just the skeletal structure. Likewise, with the next page with the image of that Pompeii victim.

Instead of looking at skeletons, I’ve decided to look at the skeleton of a buiding, Steel Frames.

Another interesting imagery from TaProhm of Ankor Wat, where tree roots grow over the ruins , like as if slowly engulfing what was once a place of worship. Interesting textures could be found : the roots of trees that swallow the walls.

The last set of imageries that would be contributing to my collection is smoke and smoke bombs. Smoke bombs are used when someone is trying to do an escape / disappearing act, and also, it’s soft clouds gives an illusion of fade.
