How atmospheric carbon dioxide becomes trapped in rock This is a preliminary outline of a detailed article to be issued in the next six months. Eric Jelinski October 15, 2021 The Dolomite Mountains in northern Italy The mountains in the picture didn’t just happen by themselves. The CaMg(CO3)2 was formed in what used to be sedimentary basins. The mountains appear to be mountains because of plate tectonics and wearing away mobile materials by winds of change. In order to form dolomite, CO2 was a reactant that is removed from the atmosphere. Over eons of time CO2 has been pulled out of the air reducing the CO2 to the near extinction point. No doubt this process of CO2 removal may still going on, but at what rate we do not know. We are fortunate that CO2 in the atmosphere is increasing and is ‘greening the earth’ as described by NASA. CO2 is plant food, and plants feed people and animals. 1

How important is CO2 to determine Earth’s temperature? Not a thing. 10,000 years ago we exited an ice age, and since that time there have been up and down of climate temperature, while CO2 had nil change. The discussion that needs to be published is to directly debunk the fear mongering of CO2 rising due to burning fossil fuels because there are other processes taking place wrt addition and removal of CO2 from the atmosphere. Eons ago, the CO2 was much higher. Where did that CO2 go...probably into the dolomite. But there are other factors too and described here. https://geology.com/rocks/dolomite.shtml https://geology.com/authors/hobart-king/ https://www.sciencedirect.com/topics/earth-and-planetary-sciences/limestone The other debunk that needs to be done is the nuclear industry advertising that they can save the world from the fear mongering by the climate activists. That is perfect marketing, ie. define a fake problem, and then present a solution. I would have thought nuclear engineers could see through this and have called out the industry. Nope, because these days rational thought and questioning is silenced by phrases like, oh, he or she is an expert.
