My co-author, Canadian William van Wijngaarden, and I did not succeed in getting these papers published in the best journals. We simply posted them on arXiv. The climate alarmist establishment has a stranglehold on the mainstream scientific journals, and it is impossible for “skeptics” like us to publish any climate-related work in them. The physics of the two papers is rock solid. The 3 W/m2 decrease of flux from the top of the atmosphere to space, due to doubling CO2, is almost the same number the IPCC crowd gets, as you can see from Table 3 of the first paper. The referees were not happy with our Figures 4 and 5, which show honestly how small the forcing changes are, the difference between the red and black jagged Schwarzschild spectra. Fig. 15 of the first paper shows how well our model agrees with satellite observations. The referees did not like that either. You are supposed to show results that are in full accord with the IPCC party line, not in full accord with observational data.

Life depends on CO2. Satellite images show greening of the entire Earth from the modest increases of CO2 so far. We are still very far from the optimum concentrations for plants, at least the 1000 ppm used in commercial greenhouses. The modern world depends on energy and by-products from fossil fuels. And the CO2 from fossil-fuel combustion benefits life on Earth. Taking fossil fuels away is a crime against humanity. 1
