At Bridgewater School, we celebrate, support and nurture individuality.

We provide independent education for girls and boys aged 3-18 years in an inspirational setting that is inclusive, stimulating, supportive and totally focused on helping your child to be everything they can be.

We are proud of our family ethos, our consistently outstanding results and our forward-thinking academic environment. But most of all, we are proud to be part of each child’s individual journey.

Ever since the school’s inception in 1950, our family ethos has ensured that every child is known and recognised throughout their own unique learning journey. Although the scale and stature of the school have grown alongside our new buildings and facilities, we are still small enough to know each young person by name and develop a true understanding of their specific needs and abilities.

Whether your child joins us at the very start of their learning journey, as a Prep School pupil or at Senior School or Sixth Form level, our consistently high teaching standards and varied extra-curricular activities start in our Early Years Foundation Stage and continue throughout the school, enriching students’ experiences and underpinning the excellent personal development of all our pupils.

The result is a vibrant community where children can flourish, learning together and achieving together, as they each follow their own path towards fulfilling their individual potential.

To experience our approach for yourself visit bridgewater-school.co.uk and take a virtual tour of our impressive grounds and facilities, or call 0161 794 1463 / email admin@bwslive.co.uk to arrange a personal visit, when we would be delighted to show you all the highly individual features which set our school apart and make it the perfect location for your child’s future.

The Queen’s School is an outstanding independent day school for girls aged 4-18 located in the historic city of Chester. From day one, girls are taught that they will succeed, helping them to develop a growth mind set, the advantages of which include increased perseverance, positive wellbeing and self-regulation and reduced stress. Pupils are given self belief and the opportunities to explore and try new things. In particular Queen’s girls are encouraged to: • Think independently • Collaborate confidently • Aspire globally Providing outdoor learning opportunities is part of the fabric that makes up The Queen’s School’s curriculum, giving pupils the opportunity to reconnect with the outdoor world beyond the classroom, boosting environmental stewardship, academic learning and personal development. Forest activities and the Beach School programme at The Lower School help children develop many skills that are hard to teach in the classroom. They encourage children to be active, assess situations, take risks and make decisions, with lots of activities to develop both fine and gross motor skills.

The school fosters a global perspective by immersing the girls in experiences that develop a deep understanding and appreciation of other cultures. They want pupils to contribute successfully in the global community by developing the attitudes, knowledge, and skills needed to live and work in today’s interconnected world, matched with global competence to participate as empathetic, engaged, and effective citizens of the world.

All of this takes place in a caring environment where no one gets lost or slips through the net. Being a smaller school dedicated to the education of girls, pupils are offered a level of pastoral and academic support that is second to none. Learning is enhanced through a wide range of extra-curricular opportunities and individually tailoring the approach to each child enables them to achieve outstanding academic results, whilst developing the skills and mind-set to thrive in a changing world.
