The Kings Head, Rudgwick NORTH SUSSEX CAMRA¡MONDAY, APRIL 3, 20172 Reads
The North Sussex CAMRA Branch Pub of the Month for March 2017 is Kings Head in Rudgwick. Run by Ralph and Linda you are always promised a warm welcome. The current building dates back to the 18th Century, although there may have been a hostelry on the site as far back as the 13th Century. The pub has a central bar with leather sofas and wood-burning stove at one end, and restaurant area at the other. There is an attractive flower-covered seating area at the front of the pub. There is a large car park on the other side of the road. The pub is right in front of a very old Norman church which is part of a conservation area for the village. The Downslink footpath passes nearby. The pub has Cask Marque accreditation and is also accredited by North Sussex CAMRA as a LocAle pub. Included in the range of beers are selections from the Crafty Brewery, nearby at Dunsfold. The menu includes a number of pub favourites which are all freshly prepared in the voluminous kitchen beneath the bar area. A popular favourite is the fish platter for one or two people. They also do takeaway.
The Kings Head shows live sports and also have regular events, including charity quizzes, themed food nights and race nights.
