Our services CONSIGNING PROPERTY: HOW IT WORKS Evaluations: Personal property can be conveniently reviewed on- site or off through photographs.
Packing and Transport: Experienced art handlers carefully pack your items and transport them to our secure, climate-controlled facilities.
Inventory and Insurance: John Moran Auctioneers provides a full inventory of your property before packing and transportation occurs. Our insurance policy will cover all items during transport, storage and display.
The Sale: We host thematic auctions throughout the year that have the flexibility to be held in person from our state-of-the-art facility, or attended via live-stream on our website and mobile app. We also offer bidding for these sales via industry-leading auction platforms, ensuring a robust audience.
Photography and Cataloguing: Every item receives a full written description, condition report, detailed photographs and an auction estimate. Catalogues are published in digital format and in print, where applicable.
The Proceeds: Settlement checks and consignor statements are mailed thirty days after the auction with an itemized statement.

Mollie Burns Keith has been in the appraisal business since 1995. As a specialist in fine jewelry and gemstones, Mollie began her career at Christie’s New York, where she served as Assistant Vice President and Head of Christie’s East Jewelry Department. She was subsequently promoted to Vice President and Senior Specialist of Christie’s Los Angeles offices and was also stationed in Christie’s Hong Kong and London offices. She also worked as a Senior Specialist at Bonham’s & Butterfields in Los Angeles. Mollie joined John Moran Auctioneers in 2007. As Jewelry Director, she oversees John Moran Auctioneers’ biannual Fine Jewelry & Timepieces auctions. She is a USPAP qualified appraiser and works as a freelance consultant and advisor. Mollie earned her B.F.A. in Art History from New York University, as well as Graduate Gemologist and Jeweler degrees from the Gemological Institute of America, California. Roland has been in the antique and fine art business since 1994. Roland started his career in antiques as a young collector, and quickly made a name for himself in trade circles. His first interest being in clocks and watches, before gradually branching out to other antiques and decorative arts. Roland joined John Moran Auctioneers in 1999. As a generalist, Roland has a broad knowledge of personal estate property. His specialty in clocks and watches also has him working closely with John Moran Auctioneers’ Jewelry Department. He regularly prepares formal valuations for insurance and fair-market purposes. Roland earned an Advanced Certificate in 20th Century Decorative Art and Appraising from New York University. He is currently earning a membership to the American Society of Appraisers.Having grown up in the shadow of the San Gabriel’s, Roland has a fondness for the outdoors that he shares with his wife and two daughters. Born in San Francisco and raised in Orange County, Jardine has had a love of the arts since childhood. She graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Art History from San Francisco State University and a Graduate Gemologist degree from the Gemological Institute of America. While living in “The City,” Jardine spent two years working at the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco, which houses a collection that echoes many of the items she now sees on a regular basis here at John Moran Auctioneers, including exhibitions of couture, jewelry, and objets d’art. As John Moran Auctioneers’ Luxury Specialist, her focuses include mid-century American and European designers and luxury accessories. As Jewelry Cataloguer, Jardine researches, describes, and creates condition reports for the bi-annual Fine Jewelry & Timepieces auctions allowing her to use her well-honed skills in gemology in her work every day. In her spare time she and her husband enjoy trips to the LA Phil and hiking.
