Presenter: Rev. Akil Dickens, Emmanuel A.M.E.

Rev. Akil Dickens is the Senior Pastor at Emmanuel AME Church sharing his mission to uplift the body of Christ spiritually, mentally, and socially. Dickens is an internationally renowned speaker and teacher. Known for using props to captivate his audience, he provides entertaining yet life-changing encounters for youth and Young adults. he serves as the Director of Youth Ministries for the 2nd Episcopal District; both under the appointment of Bishop James Davis. He formerly served as the Youth Pastor at Ebenezer AME Church (Fort Washington, MD) under Pastors Grainger & Jo Ann Browning. He oversaw 2,000 youth, taught weekly Youth Bible Study, and provided spiritual guidance to the youth. Pastor Akil earned his Bachelor of Science from the University of Maryland Eastern Shore and Master of Divinity from Howard University School of Divinity. Like us, the disciples wanted to know how to pray effectively. Jesus taught them what we know as “The Lord’s Prayer.” We dive deep into its meaning and power in this session.

Presenter: Rev. Brian Wallace, Mt. Pisgah A.M.E.

Rev. Brian J. Wallace is on the Ministerial Staff at Mount Pisgah AME Church, in Columbia, Maryland. Under the leadership of Senior Pastor Rev. C. Michele Langston, he is a Youth Minister and collaborates with different groups that work with and support youth and young adult programs. Rev. Wallace has a heart for young people and believes that GOD has a plan for everyone despite their past or present circumstance. He stands on Romans 8:28 “…and we know that all things work together for good to them that love GOD, to them who are the called according to his purpose. ”

Presenter: Rev. Tiffany Brooks, Reid Temple A.M.E.

Rev. Tiffany Brooks was born and raised in Queens, NY and completed her undergraduate degree in Kinesiology at the University of Maryland: College Park. She then went on to complete and receive her Master of Education degree in education policy, curriculum, and instruction from American University. She is currently completing her Master of Divinity degree at Wesley Theological Seminary and is currently serving as the Minister to Young Adults at Reid Temple AMEC. When she is not serving in the church space, she is developing curriculums for different nonprofit education organizations and school spaces, engaging in food justice work, leading various initiatives with a variety of church and social justice leaders and working professionally at WAMU, the DMV's local NPR radio station.
