WE NEED TO MARCH ON Hope is the real saving option To conquer challenging situations, It must be the choice of humans To get rid of the life’s frustration. Unfortunately, some hopes fade Unfortunately, some hopes evade; Dejected, whenever faces a tirade, On the caravan of hope, life rides. Some hopes reduce life’s tensions Some hopes reduce apprehensions; Like a spark in a deep dark tunnel A hope pulls us out of the turmoil. Confidence boosts a hope positively Motivates to move ahead cautiously; It’s common in the life of everyone To rely on hopes to act with perfection. Yes, a hope is the saving option To overcome life’s grim situations, Undeterred, we need to march on For, life is a path of ups and downs. | 10
WITH A POSITIVE APPROACH Be it a child Or a living creature Or even a sprout... Whatever is destined, Shall take its birth... For, this earth bears Everything like a mother. Tiny at birth they appear Yet, lovingly they tempt With love and concern They are adorned foremost Among their individuals. As a responsible human ‘With a positive approach’ We need to protect them And, mold them rightly So that they can Give something to the world That stands useful And resourceful for future.

SOMETHING WORTH THINKING To drive away the discontentment To drive away swelling resentment, I write for world enlightenment, I write for humane contentment. Above all and more significant, I aspire to write beneficial content, That prefers human betterment, That promotes equal treatment, With an unwavering quest to implant, Love among humans, every moment. I try to uproot the haunting torments I try to bridge the gaps of discontent, I plead, not to sow the seeds of dissent, Instead, create a cordial environment, And promote peace across all continents; Yes, I feel ever enthusiastic to present, Words and verses of enlightenment, So as to build a human-bond, permanent, Full of passion, concern and adornment, That brings unity; pleasant and consistent.

LO ! H U M A N S... The divine and spiritual love has uniqueness It bestows the mind; a state of eternal bliss; Destroying the passion of this worldly life They break the ties of both pleasure and grief. The dreamy world melts under its radiance And the waves that surge from its influence; Transform the fickle mind into a serene one The layers of ignorance dissolve from vision. Then emerge the hidden waves of kindness Then surge the deep quest for righteousness; All the doubts and misgivings get uprooted The divine and spiritual love gets deep-rooted. Lo Human! As clear as the vast cloudless sky A peace-filled heart gets the wings to fly high; Please revive the faith that’s slowly vanishing For God is the all-pervading force of reckoning

HAIL THE POETS ! HAIL THE POETRY ! We came across aggressions We came across conflicts, We came across brutalities, We came across ruinous wars, We came across communal frenzy, We came across starvation deaths; Witnessed most inhumane acts. Yet, the fire of fury was doused With mysticism and peace poetry Simmering not only volcanic hearts Even but pacifying the hostile minds. Let the verses and powerful peace Keep echoing across the world... To encourage world harmony To promote world awareness To uphold global fraternity To project cultural values To defend human rights, yes... With mysticism and peace themes. Hail the poets ! Hail the poetry !

THE BALANCING ACT Yes, the glorious sun At every new dawn... For someone it brings elation For someone it invites concern What a world is this creation With surprising apprehensions Varying from human to human. Paths, some filled with thorns Some paths, with petals adorn; Like the eco-balancing seasons Life travels through joys and pains Yes, with trials and tribulations Time, but keeps moving on... With the ever-glorious sun With the ever-beautiful moon They impart every human To treat life as a time testing coin That needs to balance its motion.

FOR A HEALTHY HOME Poverty still looms here and there But no one could resolve it so far Will it remain unresolved forever? Apart, the unabated deforestation The deadly industrial emissions; Pollute the rivers and the sea shores If it goes unchecked, who will suffer? A thought of mutual understanding With an approach of mental bonding; Now at least, together we need to come To build awareness, “for a healthy home”. With mutual bonding if we firmly stand Poverty, from every land, we can disband; Imparting youth on climate-human relations We can easily contain future devastations.

IN REAL Like the warm rays of a morning sun Like the radiant glow of a full moon, The moments of love grab my heart, And, embrace me with a strange delight. In the skies of my heart of hearts Fever of love catches my every thought, Dreaming a love-life they always thirst, If not it looks, as if I am lost in a desert. Love seems embossed in my every vision Thorny paths disappear like an illusion, I feel every seed of love has the potential To produce a tree of life’s shelter, ‘in real’. In the heart of love, even a fierce storm Cannot blow the love’s lamp in its realm, Counting hours for the reality to happen Every moment I thirst for my love’s union.
17 |
LOVE AND MERCY Yes, feeding the starving Appeasing their longing, Indeed; a righteous act Of aiding the suffering lot. Mercy! The instinct within Why not we awaken... Yes, every living creature, At times, is hunted by hunger. Let the wick of love and mercy burn That burns the ignorance within; The charm of life never let it go Instead break the chain of ego. Yes, let the intuition of mercy Fill the stomachs of the hungry; The seed of mercy if we implant Life would feel, forever content.
| 18
BE ALERT Remember! Whatever attracts So equally, even it distracts, Fish for a piece of bait Moths for the elusive light, Caught in the fantasies, sweet A sad end, ultimately they meet, Yes, without a fore-thought Even humans too get caught, Fantasies often keep chasing Desires often keep misleading, Weaving a web around thoughts They trap our mind and heart. Be alert! Lest the flame of ignorance Snatch away our life’s bliss and essence.
19 |
THE KEY TO SUCCESS Yes, on and off, the seasons of life Upset us with spells of joy and grief Yes, like the frequenting seasons, They also teach us fitting lessons. The fire of hate and enmity within, Drive us towards the paths of ruin; Yes, love, care, concern and unity, Bind us to live with a responsibility. Life at times looks cloudy and stormy At times painful and at times balmy, Yet, with unwavering self-confidence One needs to absorb life’s essence. Outcome of today seems unimaginable Outcome of tomorrow is questionable; Yet, confidence is ‘the key to success’, It drives away every fear and weakness.
| 20
QUEST FOR A CHANGE Yes, like the fickle mind Enticed with erratic acts, Even the world around, Bows to ego and conceit. People are hoodwinked, Motivated towards conflicts, Innocent lives are wrecked, But, who is there to protect? Leave alone the humanity Even the nature is not spared, Without an iota of anxiety, Air, sea and land are impaired. Without peace and delight The day dawns and sets, Hatred flares day and night, Quest for supremacy erupts. The fire of hate and enmity Drive us to the paths of ruin; Love, care, concern and unity, Unite every human and region.
21 |
LET LOVE FLOURISH In the love’s lovely cage Exists a lasting bondage; Bliss flows at every stage An ever-new hearts craze. The seeds of love within Sprout in the heart’s terrain; The delight and the pain Both seem really nectarine. Steady like a lamp-light On a windless serene night; Every beat of the love-heart Whirl around love’s delight. Let every dawn be gorgeous Let every day be fabulous, With a vision, luminous Let love flourish, gorgeous.
| 22
THE ESSENCE OF LOVE God gave us enough of wisdom Instead we deploy it for own stardom. God implanted mercy in our heart’s base Instead we make fun of it without a trace. God gave us an element of tender feelings Instead we misuse it for selfish inklings. God gave us a quality to protect justice Instead we try to search ways for injustice. God gave us the nights to rest in peace Instead we opt to become slaves of bliss. God gave us Nature as our shield Instead we devastate it for personal ends. God gave us the wit to choose amity Instead we opt for ways to create enmity. Yet, God gave us another great chance With a virtuous and most precious essence, ‘THE ESSENCE OF LOVE’ towards one and all, Aware of outcome, we seek others downfall, Bear in mind; “What we sow – So we reap” With a righteous will, into future please peep!
23 |
WHAT MORE DO WE NEED Like a mother, so is a father Equally so, is also the teacher We need to respect them forever; They are the ones who shape our future And pave the way for our bright future. Like a ray of hope in dire situations They guide us to safety with a real concern, They steer us on to the path of realization To ensure, we grow as responsible citizens And, bring name and fame to our nation. Till the light of knowledge is ignited in us They make every effort to feel our bliss; What they shower upon us, is pure love, For our well-being, at all times they strive So that;- with righteousness we thrive. With childish pranks and matured actions They groom us with care and concern, With the shield of education they protect us, Infuse knowledge that even inspire others ‘WHAT MORE DO WE NEED’ more than this.
| 24
IT’S ONLY PEACE Heart thirst for peace, Heart thirst for solace, For; ‘It’s only peace’; That, without a trace, Can gradually erase, And gradually replace, All sorrows with solace. Having witnessed pain Having witnessed ruin; The conflicts force upon, The war enforces upon, Ultimately it is the human, Who with misery and pain, Left to vultures, inhumane. Rousing religious elements Igniting regional sentiments; From peasants to students, Including civilians, innocent, All are made the scapegoats, Realize! Only peace grants. A lasting peace and content.
25 |
LET US PROTECT
Wherever we promote unity There, we find real humanity, Wherever we promote peace There, we find real solace, Wherever we promote love There, we find joys real trove. Wars have always inflicted pain Left a trail of death and destruction; Caught in the vortex of selfishness Aspects of peace and righteousness, And the spirit of human rights Are thrown to the vultures of hate. If we create an ambiance of amity No one can break the bond of unity; Let us not fall prey to perpetrators Let us not fall prey to the dictators, Upholding peace and human rights Let us protect our future prospects.
| 26
AWAKENING
With the surging ripples of desires A new joy, the fickle mind aspires; It tries to sting and divert the mind With sole focus on fancies abound. With the sorrows and sufferings And temptations and misgivings, Mind, betwixt darkness and light, Shuttles between ego and conceit. With ease, no one can conquer grief Or can cross the ocean of worldly life; If heart leans towards righteousness One can bask under life’s cheerfulness. Realize! Whenever intellect awakens One can easily swim the life’s ocean; Disentangling the tangle of ignorance Yes, a contented life one can balance.
27 |
TO SEE THE WORLD...
Love is the right string of heart It echoes with every heart beat, Chasing the soul-stirring tunes Heart reverberates at all times. Heart is the soul of my poetic pen It thirsts to jot verses, very often; On the bewildered worldly paths I search for care, concern and faith. Tolerance is the spirit and fragrance To encourage a trust-filled alliance; With a harmonious circumference It creates a peace-filled ambiance. A garland of words I knit for the world Knot them as verses with love words; For a humane-relationship, I aspire To see the world draped in love-attire.
| 28
IS THERE ANYONE Is there anyone Whom SORROW has spared Is there anyone Whom TRAGEDY has spared Is there anyone Whom LOVE has spared Is there anyone Whom DESTINY has spared Is there anyone Whom PAIN has spared Is there anyone Whom DECEIT has spared Is there anyone Whom EMOTION has spared Is there anyone Whom WORRY has spared Is there anyone Whom DARKNESS has spared Is there anyone Whom SUFFERING has spared Is there anyone Whom FEAR has spared Is there anyone Whom MISFORTUNE has spared Yes, life is a combination, Life is a transformation, That churns and polishes us, To reach the shore of bliss.

A LOVE-FILLED WAREHOUSE
Devoid of hostility Devoid of iniquity Devoid of ill will Devoid of dislike Every child yearns For care and concern. Every life is valuable To lead life, respectable The innocent children Need our protection. As a world citizen As a civilized denizen Let us think upright To confer equal rights To every child everywhere And make the universe A love-filled warehouse.
| 30
BETWIXT BIRTH-DEATH
The force of words Either cease or lay low; They move forward Like an everlasting flow. Poetry, most of the times Even conquer the senses; An erratic mind it can tame And jot words of fragrance. Yes, softer like the wax Pleasant like the breeze; Thoughts prefer to relax Under the poetic craze. Soothing the restive mind With tempting themes; Weaving words of profound Poetry can flow like a stream. In “between birth and death” On the bumpy journey of life; Let poetry be a home and hearth For a contented and relaxed life. 31 |
UPRIGHT AND WATCHFUL
Yes, hatred and enmity Often spoil our life’s serenity, As deceptive as a mirage Our insight, they mismanage. But, love uproots the weeds Inspires us to do good deeds; Through the fountain of grace It showers the petals of peace. With ever-new contentment It thrills with lovely attachments, It snaps vexation and sorrows Lays a path to tread tomorrow. Unconditional love enlightens us It confers us with everlasting bliss, It connects the mind and the soul Alerts us to be upright and watchful. Unconditional love is a gift, virtuous Guides us to the path, prosperous, Fickle mind and the flow of desires Slowly decline and serenity appears. | 32
DO WE NEED MORE... The mind’s notion and the delusion The mind’s friction and the reaction; Yes, everything will simply disappear When in heart, ‘compassion’ appears. The deep thirst and the deep quest The invisible unrest and the disgust, In ‘love’s light’ they vanish out of sight Realize! Love awakens a sagging heart. Like a bee, fly humming and gyrating Around the Lotus that’s really enticing; Every human heart; throb for a living That gives a pleasure worth charming. Love protects the meek and the poor Peace protects everyone, at any hour, Love and concern, confer joy forever Do we need more, except this fervor? Yes, hold the fickle mind under control, It can soothe and transform any soul; Lest, dreams and desires make us a fool, For love and peace are soul’s real tools. 33 |
THE BOND
A vide gap Covid created A death blow it inflicted Parents and dear ones Kith, kin and near ones Lost many, many more An inexplicable furor. The terrible nightmare Scares us more than ever; But, with good health forever With new joys and new fervor Let the New Year usher, And, plenty of wishes it shower. Let the scary scars vanish Let a lovely life refurbish; Let health and delight flourish, Let us once again cherish, Let the new human-bond relish, A Healthy Bond that never vanish.
| 34
A PEACE-FILLED AMBIANCE
While tolerance boosts the level of maturity Intolerance boosts the level of immaturity; The need of the hour is a resolute stability, That can encourage tolerance and equality. Tolerance improves the skill to co-operate It erases the element of enmity and hate; It unites the society, like a true soul-mate, And defuse tensions that perilously vibrate. Tolerance removes the feeling of insecurity Generates an atmosphere of responsibility; Can face the adverse winds of vulnerability, Be it as it may! It fortifies human hospitality. Tolerance recognizes universal human rights Among mixed communities, it enhances trust; Infusing the real spirit of harmonious delight, It can combat racism and confer a real insight. Apart, tolerance is the path of non-violence That isolates the destructive paths of violence; Consolidating a righteous vision with elegance, It ultimately unfolds, ‘a peace-filled ambiance’. 35 |
THE BOON OF UNITY
Hatred we can overpower With the tempting love, Violence we can overpower With the composed love, Conflicts we can overpower, With the powerful love, Hostilities we can overpower With the passionate love, Ruin we can overpower, With the swarming love, Enmity we can overpower With the pleasant love, Distrust we can overpower With the faithful love, But no one can overpower The mighty peace and love. Yes, let all of us love - Peace Yes, let all of us love – Love Together they can change The mindset of humanity And bestow the world With the BOON OF UNITY.
| 36
AS LONG AS
I am not cheerful or sad The surging love The serene love, The burning love, The romantic love, Because am a poetry beehive. Always thirsty, For honey and honey, As the day gets sunny, I whirl in a mood funny, To jot verses so many. At times on angelic love, At times on pleasant love, At times on platonic love, At times on enticing love, Yes, am not cheerful or sad With heart pleasing poetry, With heart touching poetry. Neither my ambition can Nor my imagination can As long as I am a human Cannot leave me in isolation Or can live in separation.
37 |
CONFLUENCE OF LOVE With the swelling love With the serene love, With the burning love, With the romantic love, With the angelic love, With the thirsty love, With the pleasant love, With the platonic love, With the enticing love, With the surging love, With the swarming love, With the heart pleasing love, With the heart touching love, I feel, loving you is real love, Where, all sorts of love, A confluence of love, Flows in you. Oh! My love, And you, neither can I leave Nor can in this world, I live.
| 38
ARE WE NOT... We came across aggressions We came across conflicts, We came across brutalities, We came across ruinous wars, We came across communal fury, We came across starvation deaths, We came across repressions, We came across coercions, But, we failed to stop the tragedy. Outwardly but... Often... we speak of love Often... we speak of peace, ... talk of a civilized approach, ... boast of humane concern, Inwardly but... We try to ignore and avoid To think in a right perspective. Oh human! How come...? If we hide our inner-self vision And try to hog the limelight With words... devoid of action. Are we justifying ourselves With our outwardly nature That always tries And always fool others Unaware that... Are we not fooling our inner-self? 39 |
THE ALTERNATE OPTION Yes, the fickle mind... Keeps whirring around, With thoughts abound, Tries to prepare a ground, To force us to depend, On its laid path and bond. Creating thus a vexation With steep fluctuations, And deep frustrations; Mind leaves no option, Either for exhilaration, Or to opt for motivation. Caught in the deception Ignoring life’s destination, The fathoms of dejection, Drown our life’s passions. The only ‘alternate option’, Balance the mind with action.
| 40
KEEP THE MIND... Caught in the webs of illusion Ignoring the life’s destination, Struggling in the depths of dejection, We drown our life’s real passions; Left is the only alternate option, Keep the mind away from emotions, Keep the mind away from attachments That snaps us from all life’s ailments.
SOMETHING TO PONDER Yes, balancing the life’s imbalances With a vision of proper preferences; The path of flowers and fragrances, Reward life with pleasure and peace. Topsy-turvy, there remains nothing So is a life, something worth thinking; Drive away the illusions of self-conceit Life shall flourish with joy and content.
41 |
FLEETING TIME… Whenever and wherever it be Whatever and whoever it be; Fleeting time neither pauses Nor looks back, for a recess. Spinning the yarn of desires, The value of time, mind ignores; Fastened to joy-centric attitude We roam in deceptive altitudes. Illusions are always attractive Ignorance is always deceptive, They infiltrate unknowingly, Only to torment us unceasingly. Try to heed to the inner intuitions They unveil ignorance and illusions; Time is a potion of joys and sorrows None can escape its destined gallows.
| 42
THE INSTINCT OF MERCY Hunger! Hunger! Hunger! What a pity, my dear! A fistful of food saves Many and many a lives, Who’s there but.... To show pity, by heart, Why this inhumanity Yes, where is humanity! Feeding the starving Appeasing their longing, Indeed, is a righteous act Of aiding the suffering lot. Mercy! The instinct within Why not we awaken... Yes, every living creature, Is hunted by hunger forever. Charm of life, never let it go Instead break the chain of ego; Let the wick of mercy burn, So that ignorance burns within. Yes, let ‘the instinct of mercy’ Fill the stomachs of the hungry; The seed of mercy if we implant Life one day would feel content. 43 |
A REAL JOY Yes, day after day Growth and decay, For every human, Is but very common, Realize! Oh human. The day we shun The ego-attention, All the illusions, Churn and burn, To see a new dawn. Wisdom, if clicks Shall ignite the wick, Of true knowledge:Then shall life surge With a righteous urge. Peace shall dawn then With ever-new fruition, A contented life we feel Real joy, before us kneel.
| 44
DREAMS CAN... Human life, itself looks a dream Love! A dream within that dream; For, life and love both co-exist Detached, they can never exist. On the tumultuous worldly waves We get carried away, unawares; Shun dreams, be alert and aware Fleeting time does not take care. Vying after dreams and stirrings Ignite us with the fire of sufferings; Joys and sorrows hold life’s string And, love holds both these things. The turbulent waves of desires Craft dreams and illusions of fire; Try to extinguish the flaring fires Lest, dreams can ruin our future.
45 |
LET US FIND... In the ocean of life Betwixt joy and grief, Despite the strife... Sail every human life. Desires on all sides Over the erratic tides, Without any aides, Yet, into gloom don’t glide. In sorrow or even difficulty We thirst for prosperity, For power and authority, Are we inviting a calamity? Illusions are attractive But ignorance is deceptive, Let our knowledge thrive Choosing a move decisive. Cleansing the mind... From delusions unbound, Controlling the fickle mind, Yes, a new life let us find. | 46
ELUSIVE DELIGHT While I walk And while I talk... Like a hawk Thoughts stalk. Good or bad Gloomy or glad... Often they cloud My fickle mood. Betwixt the “I-ness” Of wretchedness, And righteousness; I grope in darkness. Yes, thoughts... With new plights, Often they fight For an elusive delight.
47 |
LOVE AND LIVE TOGETHER Yes - “I” and “I” alone The egoism, let’s shun, First, let us be humane, And, let not that ego-tone, Echo again and again. Let us feed the hunger Let us save the sufferer, Life is precious and dear; Let our objective be clear Yes, to love and live together.
ARE WE SO IMMATURE !!! Love is the shelter for a life’s survival Love is the potion for a life’s revival, Everyone struggles to reach the goal; Lucky are few to achieve it in the real; Yes indeed, destiny plays a crucial role. Time gallops without a pause, unaware What’s behind we fear; in front we ignore, Unless wisdom lights the torch of future, Can the darkness of ignorance disappear? Lo human! Think, are we so immature!
| 48
SO… On the path of life, be careful Try to be almost faithful, Try to be almost truthful, Life seems lovely and cheerful, Exciting and immensely heartful. So... be always mindful At times, timely be unmindful; Life.... always is not playful, Yes, be righteous and dutiful, To experience a life delightful.
49 |
TO BE OPTIMISTIC Mind with a positive bent Definitely will make a dent Deep into thoughts, ardent With a maturity, abundant. The dark clouds of ignorance Vanish out of visible glance; Confidence bestows a chance, Reality unfolds its brilliance. Soon shall nightmares perish, Soon shall ignorance vanish, Good thoughts shall flourish And, wiser shall be every wish.
| 50
THE VEIL OF IGNORANCE
The scary and the turbulent waves Of the day-to-day worldly life; Enforce us to tread the chaotic ways To conquer life and overcome grief. Nothing works against destiny But, hopes when extinguish, Lay yet another layer of agony Leaving us in a whirl of anguish. Tempting us day in and day out Worldly passions keep on abating; Confused, what’s wrong and right Agitate mind keeps on frustrating. Yes, clouded by the veil of arrogance Our mind fails to respond in time; Let’s remove the veil of ignorance, To break the clutches of devious time.
51 |
BUT NEVER DEPARTS
Love hurts And departs; Yet in heart In gyrates And creates Pain of new sort That penetrates And invites More quotes More cites More notes More dates To please heart With love quotes And lovely notes To pacify thoughts. Though love hurts Like honey it attracts, The love-bee stays intact But never departs.
| 52
OH HUMAN! INTROSPECT Uprooting the basic pillars of peace, no one can No one can boast of being called a peace icon, Bloodshed can never bring peace, but bread can, Destruction cannot bring peace, but harmony can. In the name of caste, creed, race and religion Clashes and conflicts are ignited for a rebellion; Between self-centric forces, victims are civilians Where are we heading to, introspect, oh human! Mutual trust and harmony are powerful weapons They can keep at bay, the forces of destruction; To fortify the bond of love and friendly relations, Unity and understanding are the reliable options. Let the superiority complex diminish in humans Let bitter thoughts replace with love and concern; ‘Peace’ is a mighty weapon to avert all conflicts, May righteousness reign in every human thought! Peace exists if we succeed to uplift the downtrodden Peace prevails if we overcome, difference of opinion; Peace stabilizes progress and progress to prosperity Yes, together why not we give peace, a top priority?
53 |
SHUN EGOISM... What can be really evitable? What can be really inevitable? Both, at times seem complex Life seems groping in perplex. Who’s the helmsman of life? Who’s the propeller of grief? Is it destiny or else something? God! Is it not our own making? Taking the birth of a human Indeed, is an invaluable boon! With a steadfast determination Sun egoism with a new vision.
| 54
WITHOUT PREJUDICE Respect all faiths and cultures Respect all people and creatures; Like true humans, let us admire, The earth, sky, sun, moon and stars. Nature protects all, if we protect it As life’s essence, it positively acts; With seasons, it balances everything Realize! Without it, we are nothing. By keeping all our environs clean Let us stand an example to co-humans; Time and tide wait for none! Remember! Employ this; from January to December. With an attitude of peace and harmony Let us shun the thoughts of disharmony; Ignorance and ego are lifelong enemies Confidence and self-reliance are our armies. Yes, this precious life is a God’s gift Blessed to live together without any rifts; With faith and love, towards one and all ‘WITHOUT PREJUDICE’; learn to treat all. 55 |
NEVER ASPIRE - NEVER EXPECT The ever-active vacillating mind Entice us with ever-new illusions, Ignoring to take a righteous stand It compels us to live in delusions. Suffering the pain of the fading hopes The unstable structure of tomorrow, Abandon us in the vortex of sorrows And bury us in the fathomless slopes. The cycle of the sun rise and sun set Goes on; - months and years roll on, When the awakening mind peeps out The precious life feels the actual pain. Realize of human! Realize of human! By accumulation of meritorious deeds The valued human body we could attain With a discriminate mind ‘gifted by God’. Realize! As per our previous merits God gives us what we really deserve, But, never aspire and never expect God bestows us whatever we desire.

THE SACRED INSTINCT Elusive at times, Assertive at times, Alerting at times, Appealing at times, Enticing at times, Ignoring at times, Revealing at times, Concealing at times, Kindling at times, Dousing at times, Drawing at times, Diverting at times, Absorbing at times, Distracting at times, Oh God! At all times, I hear sweet rhymes, Echo in mind’s frame, Of your devout name.
57 |
A RIGHT STAND Mind is an invisible cheat It deceives us more than a cheat With ever-new enticing illusions It forces us to rely on fickle visions Creating tensions thereupon It invites new apprehensions Creating delusions It invites a streak of disillusions Creating discrimination It invites a wave of aversion Creating deep passions It invites a lack of concern Creating prejudice It invites an element of malice Creating superstitions It dampens our farsighted visions Let us not be blind slaves of mind Awaken our wit and take a right stand.

MOTHER NATURE Autumn leaves flutter with the morning gales Dew drops slowly wane from the warm sunrays, The golden horizon unfolds eye-pleasing delights, Cool, a dream appears in the castle of thoughts. The pretty butterflies, their eye-pleasing colors The beautiful birds, their erratic flying endeavors, The soul-stirring snow-clad mountains stand afar, A stream flows from the mountain foot, so clear. Preserving the spirit of life for the world’s future Incredible are the features of our amazing nature; Alas! Mind enclosed with the mist of selfish nature Humans fail to recognize nature’s unselfish nature. While a mother rejoices by the pranks of her child So also nature rejoices with all-beings of the world; Suffering in silence the agonies inflicted by humans Yet, nature waits tolerantly for a change in humans. The love and serenity bestowed by Mother Nature The eye of our inner vision can visualize its gesture; Well before the life-giving radiance of nature fades Let us pledge to protect nature with a right attitude.

A HARMONIOUS LIVING On the soil of harmonious living and dignity Unless we sow the seeds of social equality; We cannot ensure qualitative living to sprout Or can see it grow into a giant tree; no doubt. Without bias towards race, region and religion Neglect or abandonment, the state should shun; Adoring the environment and natural resources Let a cosmopolitan culture mature and progress. A harmonious living is a boon for any region That constantly boosts the state’s elevation; Upholding and improving the living standards Hearten people to respect all and to work hard. With an enthusiastic and a matured governance Economy captures the great good golden chance; Yes, with a promising social and cultural activity, It’s easy to please the mindset of entire society. Let’s wish the grand State of Birland (Birtawil) Thrive with progress and prosperity, perpetual; May peace prevail there; become a haven for all, Let the habitable place, echo with bliss eternal.
| 60
WITH A FIRM WILL What a misfortune encircled this pretty world Disease, death and destruction spread its fold, Unable to flee from the deadly clutches of virus The whole world is echoing with helpless cries. Having polluted the minds with race and region Having polluted the earth and even the oceans; Neither able to breathe nor any hope to survive Physically and mentally humans became captive. Collectively, we can disentangle the vicious grip Humanity as a whole should themselves equip To realize the ultimate truth; the beautiful world Is the only source of life and our protective shield. The exchange of universal values and culture Through the contemporary art and literature; Shall kindle and encourage universal harmony To dispel the ignorance and our quest for money. With a firm will, with our literal and artistic vision Yes, let us stand unruffled midst the temptations; Awakening others from the slumber of ignorance Poets and writers, let’s play a role with confidence.
61 |
PROMISING FUTURE As and when Now and then As I happen To listen And soften... Thoughts often Pick the pen To tenderly pen With emotion The diverse actions On literal unification On artistic opinions Without any confusion. To bring poets together To bring nations together If we exchange forever The values of literature As also art and culture For a promising future, Can there be any war? Can there be any furor? Positivity! Let us gather, Negativity! Let us defer “Unity” once and forever Such strength, let’s garner For a promising future! | 62
COURAGE AND UNITY Whenever the ruinous bombs are rained Through the clandestine clouds of hatred, Unaware, the innocent civilians, unarmed Scores crush to death, scores get maimed. Yes, the heart-breaking devastate scenes The brutally dead and the maimed civilians; The horrifying wails of the wounded children, Lay bare the cruelty and brutality, inhumane. The egotistic and the ignorant-centric world Though aware, slip silently into a selfish fold; Wound after wound, the suffering is untold, Yet, Palestinians stand firm, united and bold. Though the past wounds have not healed yet Another inhumane and barbarous onslaught; Raise a question of violation of human rights Regrettably but, ignorance is ruling the roost. Still yet, the will-power and the soaring spirit The Palestinians wield, is right and upright; Yes, truth and justice confers victory one day ‘cause, courage and unity is their chosen way. 63 |
LEST, WE FALL PREY... After witnessing the devastation Covid has caused in other nations, With a deaf ear, with least concern, We allowed it to spread on our own. The negligence we demonstrated The ignorance we exhibited, Covid, the disaster, we re-invited, Scared! We now feel totally isolated. The deadly and widespread virus Without mercy shatters our bliss; Many a dear one we already miss, Let’s avert another wave like this. The most pathetic plight of victims From old age to the prime teens; Anyone can fall a Covid victim, Awaken, use mask and sanitization. Let us be more alert than earlier Help our near, dear and even others, Let us be cautious, remain indoors, Lest we fall prey to this evil monster. | 64
YOUR WORDS OF INSPIRATION Whenever the breeze flows gently Whenever my thoughts whirl silently; The radiance of mother’s grace appears And disentangle me from all life’s fears. Mother! Though you are not present The manifest form, yes, you represent, The wick of your love burns eternally When I falter, your voice echo inwardly. Yes, as and when I grope in the dark In absentia you guide me like a spark; A safe and secured life, you bless always Enlightening me, as also all my pathways. Alas! When life seemed totally settled You left me abrupt, leaving me rattled; Without you oh my mother, of what use Of what use is life, heart weeps and rues. Yet, your words of inspiration always echo Yes, wherever I dwell and wherever I go; You being my mother, indeed is virtuous For you always bless me, ‘success and bliss’. 65 |
AN UPRIGHT SENSE Knowledge is consciousness It persuades righteousness, It even bestows selflessness, Imbibes a good farsightedness. Yes, knowledge... We must acknowledge, Confers an edge, At every corner of life’s stage. Knowledge propels confidence It even dispels ignorance, It creates a right mental balance, And gifts us, ‘an upright sense’. Yes, why not we impart Knowledge is life’s support, It gives peace of every sort, And contentment to every heart.
| 66
UNFORTUNATELY, BUT... (A poem for WORLD EARTH DAY) Yes, let us save our planet with total responsibility Lest, present situation shall eliminate humanity; We are the culprits and we are the selfish stock As spectators our silence is bound to create havoc. If not we awaken from the slumber of distinction If not we come out of the garb of race and region, And think of mother earth that’s the source of life Humanity is bound to suffer from pain and grief. Earth is selfless, cannot be different or indifferent Earth is always tolerant and can never be intolerant, Outwardly or inwardly earth loves every living being Only looks attached but unattached is human being. Earth regards but never disregards any living creature It obeys the seasons, never disobeys needs of future; While earth is engrossed in doing good for one and all Unfortunately but, why humans are striking at its cycle.
67 |
GLOOM AND GRIEF Yes, thirsting for ever-new pleasures Running after the never-ending desires; Enticed by materialistic world pleasures One gets trapped blindfold in its layers. Though inner-self cautions us on this Yet we run after the mirages of bliss; In a bid to grab some golden feathers Ego-bloated, we compete with others. Unless we shun, we are wise than others And peep into the conscious-self of ours; Unless we realize the high merit of life Future flings to the hook of gloom and grief. Once we annihilate our ego and ignorance Yes, righteousness can spread its radiance; It drives away the darkness of deception And transform us to become better persons.
| 68
A SOURCE OF LIFE Pretty are the buds which during nights blossom Pretty are the flowers which for a tomorrow bloom, Pretty are the clouds that drift and adorn the sky, Whoever cherish the delight is indeed very lucky. Autumn leaves flutter with the morning gales Dew drops slowly wane from the warm sunrays, The golden horizon unfolds eye-pleasing delights, Cool, a dream appears in the castle of thoughts. The pretty butterflies, their eye-pleasing colors The beautiful birds, their erratic flying endeavors, The soul-stirring snow-clad mountains stand afar, A silent stream from the mountain foot, so clear. Let’s aspire to save the earth for next generation Let’s ensure, no ecological catastrophe threatens; Like a responsible human, let’s shoulder the task For earth like a source of life shields us like a mask.
69 |
TRY TO REALIZE Illusions in the disguise of day dreams Entice us to run after the worldly charms Caught midst the impenetrable delusions Well before we wake up, prime age burns. Dreams coming out true, very rarely we hear At times a strong hope, at times unknown fear; Believing or relying will intoxicate our wit, May generate a thrill or joy, just to please heart. Let us not fall prey to day dreams, in particular It’s like putting out the burning lamp in a stupor; Stray thoughts crowd the fickle mind to please Yet, try to realize how precious the human is! Yet, try to realize how precious our life is.
| 70
A MOTIVATION The more and more one gets busy More and more one shuns being lazy; All that which once looked hazy Vanish away from thoughts, crazy. Being buzy is a blessed privilege It gives anyone, added advantage, It motivates everyone at every stage And, bestows confidence at any age. Overlooking every sorrow and pain Composed and confident one remains, Excelling all, in their chosen domains Sharp and active, always one remains. A buzy day grants benefit of surprise It entertains and gives scope for praise, It enhances the determination to revise And a pleasant contentment in disguise.
71 |
THE DAY ONE REALIZES Peace dwells in every human heart Now and then, it keeps peeping out, Often, we ignore it under compulsion As if, peace is the last and least option. In times of suffering and in times of crisis We search for love; we search for bliss; We thirst for peace, we thirst for unity, Ultimately aspire for harmonious humanity. The unsteady mind runs after wild passions Unaware, it leaves us astray in life’s ocean; Betwixt the shores of sufferings and pains The primary phase of life loses its sheen. The breeze of egoism blows passionately Pleasures and desires drag us fanatically; The day one realizes this deceitful slumber Heart; for love, peace and harmony surrenders.
| 72
TRANSFORM THIS HUMAN LIFE Wars and conflicts propel anger and reprisal Unfairly and unjustly, they divide the people; Forcing prejudice and repression of humanity They deny social justice and social equality. Caught in the webs of pleasures and desires, The thirst and pain invite unforeseen miseries; They envelope us in the darkness of ignorance And mar the serenity of mind and its fairness. Unaware, the worldly desires often entice us Under its spell, we prefer social-status bliss; Once we peep into the miseries of humanity No doubt, we feel like to share social liability. To uphold ethical and moral ideals of humans We need to tame all our discriminate actions, Let us try to improve the basic standards of life Lest, poverty and food scarcity invites more strife. Snap the ties of ego and the greed for supremacy Be an incisive thinker; peep out of cunning ecstasy, ‘Transform this human life’ into a meaningful one By sharing the hunger and sufferings of co-humans.
73 |
TO LOVE EVERY HUMAN (for Global Love Day) Yes, merely with a self-centric vision We avoid sharing love that dwells within Bloated with pride, in a selfish stupor We fail to reckon other’s pain, as ours. If we choose love over hatred and fear It’s like choosing a pleasant life forever; Instead of snapping the ties and traditions Why not we opt for a cordial integration? Often, time teaches us ever-new lessons But, we ignore them with least concern, Unaware that human life is a precious one Yes, why do we hate ‘to love every human’? In the clouds of love there exists eternal bliss They can create a lasting bondage amongst us; Why not we irrigate the seeds of love within? With every sprout saying, ‘with me love begins’.
| 74
THE OMNIPOTENT A deep spiritual thirst A deep endless quest Lurks in the deep heart, And stands in the forefront In the volley of thoughts To gain wisdom and insight. Absorbed, I cannot resist The determined pursuit Captivated, I cannot desist The never-ending spirit, Beholding the tether of wit Inward vision I must activate. I feel, I lack something yet I feel, I need yet some boost, To shed worldly attachments To counter delusion Of spiritual instinct To reach an insight To reach the realization root. How to seek atonement How to shed attachment From the power ardent Who is ‘the Omnipotent’. 75 |
I ARDENTLY FEEL A spiritual thirst An unending quest Lurks in the heart At the forefront. Neither can I resist Nor can I desist The untiring spirit The enticing pursuit. I ardently feel, yet... I need more boost Of spiritual instinct To go deep to the root. How to seek atonement? How to shed attachment? Yes, I am grateful for... For the Omnipotent; Whose weapon of potent Spreads love, incessant, Shares pain and torment.
| 76
ALAS! BUT… Merely with a self-centric vision We think we are wiser than anyone Signifying pride with aggression We feel, we chose the right option. Time repeatedly teaches us lessons We pay a deaf ear without concern, Unable to grasp, life is a precious one. Having become slaves of ego and envy Mind-set views everyone as an enemy; Alas but, though at times it looks funny Precious life, unaware turns a dummy. Realize, there’s some invisible power Yet, that can still transform us forever; Let our inner self peep deeper within For no power is equal to alter its origin.
77 |
THEN, SHALL PERISH Yes, when the selfish world tries to distract The ‘language’ has the charisma to attract; When region and racial imbalances surface The ‘literature’ has the charisma to balance. For ‘society’ is the backbone of the universe Mutual acceptance gives no scope for violence; A harmonious bent of mind in every human Can enlighten the world with ever-new vision. To make all out efforts to influence the society Writers and poets across the globe need unity; Because language and literature have no barriers Let us attempt to become transformation-carriers. Together we, with a steadfast and resolute mind Pledge to promote language and literature around; Let us aim to transform the society we live in, Then shall perish; the dispassion and discrimination.
| 78
WITH A WILL The mind cannot remain without thinking But, whatever is destined keeps happening As per our sweet-will, we keep performing; But, the stock of merit keeps diminishing Wealth, power and position keeps sinking Unaware, everything around looks annoying. Enveloped by new concerns, day and night We fall prey to intolerance and discontent, Brooding over ill-luck, destiny and what not Unable to swim life’s ocean, we feel upset; Pride and arrogance, once we did exhibit Like wild fire, they burn joys’ castle in heart. The day we uphold the morals and ethics, The day we brood over reality and relics; Love, peace and mercy unfold their basics And convey life’s real and purposeful topics. Yes, realization dawns; lays a path futuristic To master own destiny with a will, dynamic.
79 |
WORLDLY ATTACHMENTS Yes, like the dusk that precedes every dawn Every desire thirsts and waits for a new one, The very day the mind is free from delusion The very purpose of life shall definitely dawn. For the world is infested with ego and conceit Joys and sorrows form part of worldly deceit, Discarding earthly passions, how tough is it! Lasting joy adorns, only when they all depart. Unless the illusory bonds are severed forever And the fastened rope of desires is cut asunder, Purification of mind is not at all possible dear Only a righteous life can enlighten, yes, ponder. Like the seasons, the phases of life too advance Narrow minded to reality, with egoistic glance, We cling to fruitless bonds of love and romance Losing the cream of life before realization dawns. Give up the worldly attachments and comforts Feel satisfied with a pious life, the ultimate fort, Surrounded by divinity, joy eternal shall float Saving the upright, from the clutches of ill-fate.
| 80
CONTENTMENT AND ECSTASY The deep pursuit for riches and luxuries Often enrage the mind with new worries; From such a slumber if mind is awakened, The eye of wisdom can bloom; enlightened. If we keep on chasing the mirages of bliss The swords of desires keep on hunting us; If the fleeting worldly pleasures elate us utmost The stages of advancing life deject us the most. Caught in the webs of pleasures and desires, The pains and sufferings invite more miseries; Only our inner self possesses the vital powers To blow away the traps, lurking with hunger. Once we realize the hassles of worldly life Ignorance dissolves along with worldly grief; Yes, snap the ties of greed, ego and supremacy And lead a life, full of contentment and ecstasy.
81 |
WITHIN AND BEYOND Be it during the day or night The ripples of lovelorn thoughts Even in a state of awakening Even in a state of dreaming, Beyond the grapple of mind And within the grasp of mind, Search for the beehive of love To merrily dance in sweet-love. Overpowered by strange passion And love’s irresistible temptation; Like a concurrence of fortune Love binds both hearts into one. Let us greet the lovely moments To bathe in the nectarine imprints, For, only once in our life time Such precious moments be time, Yes, determined, let us intertwine To tread love path that forever shines. Love is something that thirsts forever Even death is nothing for love or a lover Like Romeo-Juliet, the platonic lovers ‘Let true love’, blossom in lovers forever.
| 82
LOVE ONLY CAN INTERACT The relentless waves of your love Rise up, deep in the heart of heart, Like a ray, memoirs of surging love Bestow light of deep contentment. Your nectarine and caring words Like a light house of a lost heart, Enclose me in a cozy love-world, Yes, where, only love can interact. The stanch feelings deep inside Like the surging waves of an ocean, Unceasingly and tearfully invade To embrace your reflection within. The love-filled unswerving thoughts Fasten me to the youthful days, Carried by wind, like a snapped kite Fated, I land again on thorny ways. Tormented by vexatious memories Bleeding agony causes painful chaos; Merely flirting in the memory skies I love to survive on my lovelorn woes.
83 |
SUCH THOUGHTS REJOICE Betwixt the ever-new versions and the temptations Yes, thoughts create fake visions and false illusions; The strong fancies of heart, prefer egoistic visions The veils of negative thoughts stir endless delusions. Yes, negativity breeds the ruinous and violent actions Ignoring the nectarine peace, it vies for destruction; It divides people on race, region and religion, Realize, such thoughts propel only death and ruin.
| 84
ELIMINATE CHILD LABOR The strong fancies of heart, prefer egoistic visions The veils of negative thoughts stir endless delusions. Yes, negativity breeds the ruinous and violent actions Let us promote positive thoughts to eliminate child labor pains.
JOY INFINITE Love provokes and even entices most With strange delights, it tempts utmost, Creating a steady confidence to react, It offers enduring satisfaction as a gift. When two hearts with love interweave No force can break or unknot the love; As and when, if someone tries to thwart Like a volcano, the lava of love erupts. The fountain of love offers a ‘joy infinite’ Offers ever-new delights every moment; Love comprises a firm bond and firm hold To conquer the inner as well as outer world. 85 |
TANGLED STATE Life itself is such a deceptive domain Never pronounces the word ‘satisfaction’; Trying to brush aside all dispassion It craves for never ending passions, Pride and ego under the garb of wit Manipulate us to outwit our right wit. If worldly motivations rule the mind I-ness and my-ness are openly found; In the cell of worldly fascinations Itself, when the mind imprisons, It encircles the light of awareness, And hide it behind the veil of darkness. Egoism stirs debates and arguments Tries to ditch with hollow attachments, For granted, it classifies reality as fake Misleading our inner-self, it provokes; Let’s try to shore up the awareness state To free ourselves from the tangled state.
| 86
TRANSFORMATION The good and the constructive mind The wicked and the unpleasant mind; Caught betwixt, can realization of truth Invite us without treading the right path. Yes, we love someone, hate someone We like someone, dislike someone; Mind often fluctuates and distracts us With fake impressions of lasting bliss; Unless these tendencies are eschewed Self-realization remains totally blurred. The wakeful state and the dream state These are but common, like luck and fate; Observing through the eye of wisdom Steer the mind towards a real stardom, Lest, the fickle mind for fleeting pleasures Try to land us midst sufferings and pains. There’s no living being unscathed by sorrow This awareness, we must constantly grow, Let us get rid of all the illusory perceptions Be the one, who stand for a transformation.
87 |
WHY NOT WE... Mind creates false illusions As also create fake visions Betwixt these temptations; Midst the interpretations We prefer self-centric visions. The strong impulses of heart Distract us without any respite, Often vying for varied objects Through the devious conduit, We deem them as prime assets. Fickle mind provokes us most Even tries to entice us utmost, The transitory delights attract Timely but, if we fail to react, Purpose of real life, they distract. The endless endings of desires Steadily stoke the untamed fires, Though deterred by hesitation; Shunning ignorance and illusions Why not we choose a right vision.
| 88
HOPE, THE NEW HOPE... As the Sun’s rising radiance penetrates, The sleeping darkness slowly disappears, Piercing the web of nightmarish thoughts, A ray of new hope infiltrates with delight. From the thoughts exile, to a new hope From contraction to a tendency of ripe; Lo! The new hope, will it be transitory? A stirring doubt envelope my memory. Sunshine at present, dusk fall way behind Besieged with persistent doubts all around; Heart deeply craves for the lost love treasure But, can every hope remain elusive forever? Memoirs of love, will they become miseries And from the buried hopes stoke old fires; The thirst of love keeps inciting self-hatred Hope, this new hope ushers a new chapter.
89 |
UNITED FOREVER Sowing the seeds of love and faith With concern and delight let us tread, Tread the righteous and ethical path That unites and leads us to eternal peace. Let the words of enmity and hatred Get totally disfigured and destroyed; Let the bond of humanity is firmly tied That keeps us all, harmoniously united. May the dismal lives of the down-trodden And, the uncertain lives of every orphan, By God’s grace; blessed with love and care Conferring a new lease of life, forever. Let the traitors with ill-intended motives Who with hatred and enmity make moves; They be exposed before the fires are ignited, To ensure, humans remain forever united.
| 90
WE NEED TO... Delusion or non-delusion Tied to the creeper of life Hanging to the cliff of illusions Often we engross in cozy dreams Of selfish love and relationships Instead of a righteous approach. Ignoring the turbulent lives Ignoring the miserable lives, Of the war-ravaged victims Of the conflict torn regions; Bloated by the bubbles of ego Floating in the aroma of riches We need to even look at paths Where pains and sufferings exist.
91 |
WITH LOVE, IF SERVED Ignoring the lives, turbulent and pathetic Under the influence of world, materialistic; Often, we get blind with selfish objectives And, aspire to ignore the life’s real motives. Handicapped by illusory worldly pleasures Dangling to the hook of egoistic pressures; We brazenly ignore co-human sufferings Even humiliate them, knowing everything. Never ever ill-treat the persons with disability Instead, dousing self-esteem, shower humility Neither are they accursed, nor undeserved They are but real humans, ‘with love if served’. Disability can be succeeded with love profound Let’s enable them to interact with world around; Though difficult, they can do important things Yes, love and concern can transform anything. From birth itself, form most of the disabilities They can be overcome with sociable activities; Avoiding or neglecting persons with disability, A mean-minded crime against entire humanity. | 92
Be it physical disability, autism range disorder or, Vision impairment, intellectual disability or Deaf and dumb or mentally deranged persons; Our love and concern can transform their vision. Let us pledge to respect persons with disability Let them speak, hear, walk and learn with equity, Avoiding total attachment to earthly possessions Let us also intermingle with the disabled humans.
93 |
THE ULTIMATE I am a solitary traveler Travelling the paths of life, Days and years roll over Detach and slip like dry leaves By the invisible winds of time Only to get blown-off Deep into the layers of past. Life... At times a turbulent ocean At times a nightmarish dream At times a delightful illusion At times a fleeting glorification; Living in fleecing delusions With presence of mind at times With erratic bent of mind at times Rarely can someone reach The precincts of enlightenment By climbing the steps Of desirelessness Of selflessness And ‘the ultimate’ righteousness.
| 94
MEMOIRS Thoughts keep intervening Illusions keep interweaving; Betwixt the fleeting pleasures And the volcanic fire of despair, Intoxicating memoirs keep ringing Intolerable pain keeps piercing; With love, dejection and aversion The citadel of passion looks broken. Limitations and apprehension Incapacitate my future vision; Without you, yes, my dear Everything looks a vast vacuum I can neither reveal nor conceal As memoirs engulf at every dusk fall.
95 |
EITHER NEAR OR DEAR The waning out life in isolation The gush of clouding dejection, Yes, moment after moment Chase me without any respite. Managing to balance at times I stumble umpteen times, But, the reprieve I deeply seek Evade me, giving a mystic slip. Anyway, the fragile body Is destined to worn-out one day, And, when life takes a nose-diving Realize, every dream keeps falling. The merciless hands of fate Can create infinite love and hate; When the time of doom draws near No one can save, either near or dear.
| 96
LOVE AND KINDNESS I greet “concern” with a revered heart I seek “mercy” with a trusted mind, Yes, with divine blessings, I aspire To dispel worries of the downtrodden. The brightness of the peeping sun The splendor of the melting clouds, Moment after moment as they dissolve Wish, humans feel a wave a renewed love. Yes, the delights of love and kindness Offer a treasure of life-long warmth, Every day in such human hearts, A beam of compassion keeps glowing. “Love” embedded in the core heart, Aspires to be righteous and merciful; Serenity dwells inwardly and outwardly, Realize! Sympathy motivates any heart.
97 |
MERCILESS DESTINY When the hours of dawn rang A renewed hope sprang, Through the glowing horizon As usual, peeps the rising sun. Filling hearts with new delight Pleasingly, colorful birds fly out; All gloomy thoughts they dispel The darkness, simply fizzle. Today is but unimaginable Tomorrow is yet unpredictable; Fearing the outcome of today I feel loving the bygone day. The worn-out life in isolation The mood of clouding dejection, Yes, moment after moment Chase me without any respite. Down, I fall umpteen times, Yet, manage to balance at times, But, the reprieve I deeply seek Evade me, giving a mystic slip. | 98
The perishable life and the body Are doomed to collapse one day, Life sometimes flies, sometimes dives Confidence is the dire need to thrive. In the merciless hands of fate Doomed, we become a tool of hate; The invisible tentacles of destiny Ultimately grab us without mercy.
99 |
DESERTED HEART While the windstorm Rage in heart of hearts; The drowning memories Ravage my aspirations. Pleasures entice the body Pleasures impress the mind, But, pains depress the body And sadden the mind too. In the thoughts desert Yes, isolated I stand; My shattered ambitions Evaporate, little by little. New thoughts intervene Even new hopes intertwine; But, the merciless destiny Constantly keep pouncing. Quest for past-days revival Fascination for survival; In the impasse, what’s real? Or, is it the final downfall. | 100
Yes, as age advances fast And the loved one, when desert; Can the deserted heart In the storm, still remain intact?
IMPLANTING LOVE AND PEACE Yes, when death danced to the Covid-19 tune Scaring every region, nation and every human; Terrified, we stayed indoors to save our lives But to save victims, others staked their lives. Yes, profound gratitude to all the health workers Grand salutation to all the dare devil doctors; Their humane service in dire need is invaluable In need, their love and concern was incredible. Yes, like torch bearers they imparted human unity Implanting love and peace in the entire humanity; Realize, affection and concern scripts a new order To espouse a movement, yes, that stands forever.
101 |
A STRONG WILL Hours and days of life Rapidly get devoured; And the fleeting time Keeps on hunting us. Despite being aware Time keeps chasing us; We keep on thirsting For the fountain of joys. Squeezed and crushed By unforeseen upheavals; Life’s hopes get shrunk, And nightmares creep out. At times, flowery paths At times, thorny paths; But confidence is the power, Patience is the real healer. A strong will liberates us, Yes, a positive bent uplift us, Pluck out the thorns of ego, To feel ever-new contentment. | 102
SPREAD AND SHARE LOVE I love to view the beautiful flowers Thirsting to relish the early sun-rise, My heart stirs with delight unbound, Viewing nature, adorned all around. I feel lured to hear the chirping birds Hovering and swinging in clusters, My thoughts embrace the pretty nature That shower bliss on every living being. The warm rays peep out of the clouds To please the earth and all living beings, The breeze flows slowly and weaves Garlands of thoughts to enjoy in silence. Steadily the radiant sun keeps moving up Ushering another day in the era of history; Illuminated by inspiring words and thoughts I try to compose yet another pleasing lyric. My heart beats with a message of peace My eyes reflect with a theme of harmony, My thoughts reverberate with lyrics of love, Planting a dream to spread and share love. 103 |
SALUTATIONS... Corona virus, the deadly pandemic Forced us to be more self-centric It created an inexplicable vacuum Between you, between me and them. Blocked inwardly and locked outwardly Yet, Corona proved very very deadly With a death dance, it scared everyone What if, if another wave strikes again. Strictly following the basic precautions Let us be ever-alert to face any situation. Humanity has seen many wars and destruction Ultimately, we will win over the situation. Till then, let us be firm, not to stumble or fall Let us suspect all, respect all, yes, without fail For the welfare and well-being of one and all Let us stand united and fight the pandemic evil. Yes! Salutations to all the dare-devil doctors Salutations to the dare-devil medical workers.
| 104
CANNOT THIS... (Protection & Children Priority Day) Well before the first warm rays Pierce through the eastern horizon Ushering yet another dawn on earth, And, before the drowsy eyes open Scroll newspaper for world news; Our hearts pierce with a deep pain And eyes become misty with emotion. We notice bad news about child abuse It may be physical, sexual or emotional It may be exploitation or medical neglect Or it may be verbal or violent treatment And dire threat of crime and prostitution; That apart, torn betwixt wars and conflicts; Orphaned, they become prey to intimidation They are forced to brutal torture and rape, And sucked to death in the vortex of violence, Alas ! Who’s there to enforce child safety laws? And make sure their rights are respected? Cannot this civilized world protect them? Cannot the society take-up this humane cause?
105 |
PRIORITY FOR REALIZATION Goddess Durga, the Mother of this Universe The world’s most Supreme Power and force, To the wicked, with a furious menacing form She drives away evil from the darkest realms. She is our guardian, who can combat any evil, She is the protector of Dharma, averts any peril; The demonic forces tremble and run for safety But cannot escape Her Divine Wrath, it’s a reality! A Shakti Devi, usually depicted as riding a lion, The Omnipotent, even empowers the creation; With Eight arms, each holding a special weapon, She saved the three worlds from buffalo demon. ‘The Mercy Incarnate’ to those who worship her Durga! She protects them from crisis and danger; She feels pleased with a right intent of worship That’s meant for the welfare and well-being of all. With steadfast faith, let us worship the Goddess Let us give priority for the realization of happiness; The Guardian of this World;- too is our Guardian Let us reverentially worship Her. Be a real human. | 106
Our egoistic impulses and selfish desires The deeper affinity with fame and riches, Keep us away from the reality of realization That can be overcome by spiritual expedition
TRUST - CONFIDENCE The illusory worldly life Traps us in the mire of grief, The dirt of worldly existence Sink us in a dreadful trance, The alluring paths of ignorance Fasten our wit, as also senses, And, thoughts within a blink Into nothingness, they sink. But, the element of trust Razes the veil of distrust, The aspect of confidence Propels our attentive stance, The vision of our concern Erases the thought of forlorn, And, the friendly and loving bond Uproot all illusions from mind.
