An interview with My Granny

Like the flight I boarded over the dim sky, Firmly escorted through an eternal ray by Angels, For an interview just fixed, a day earlier, About life, with my granny who left long ago To know, before my soul goes forth my flesh Or so the whereabouts in heaven in advance And the provision to make for a better voyage.

In a large hall, like a queen, I saw her waiting With a longing heart to meet, heavenly dressed, Besides her wide setting, she made me sit. Much younger than ever she came along, Her cheeks so tender and eyes cheerful, Never to believe her character when she left, Out of old age, fully exhausted even to walk.

Glad I was to know about immortality, to gain Upon the call from heaven in total equality. When one second, I recalled about hell. No hell as such created did she reveal But on deed in life’s book the position created For good the best and bad the hard in chores Like on earth based on status people held.

Upon my query about her kin on the land, 'Happy I am upon me being picked up by God For I can see at a glance at all not as before, And in advance can address the troubles. ‘To save you and my kids,’ said she with a smile, 'More than what I did when with you wholly, And even to hear about now and then.'

The private chamber in heaven, she pointed, To indicate when in melancholy she resides. In it, the golden bowl lies, of tears she poured Upon seeing us, distressed among one another And sinning in secret with an envious spirit. 'Distress me not, tell them, by such in you, But in action, love to share,' she exclaimed.

'Shed no tears in memory of my demise For it shall distress me to break my mind To praise to our Lord in merriment and live. Better pray for yourself and me for peace. Although I am not physically, in spirit I am there, Never to part from eternity to eternity,' to me, To make me realize about her existence.

When I spread my eyes wide open, I gained the soul that went to meet Me on the bed, to make me ponder what I did. Thus, the departure from flesh isn't an end. In fact, it's the rejuvenation of the stages of life, Aside from endless desires and sins at hand That distress oneself and God in heaven.
