Year 8 was a time of many changes. Friendships grew and changed as we became more settled into the environment of secondary school and got a better grasp of the life of a secondary school student. We continued with subjects such as Italian, Art, Materials, Theatre Studies, Music and PE. In 2017, Ed Sheeran’s Album ‘Divide’ was released where we enjoyed songs such as ‘Shape of You’ and ‘Castle on the Hill’. We also danced to ‘Despacito’ by Daddy Yankee and Justin Bieber and most notably Harry Styles made his comeback with a new album! These songs went hand in hand with the dance craze of Flossing!

We enjoyed Year 8 Retreat together, and an excursion to Mornington where we completed a scavenger hunt through Main Street! We had the opportunity to take part in the musical ‘How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying’.

We also thoroughly enjoyed Year 8 Camp at Alexandra, where we took part in activities that targeted our fears and how to overcome them; specifically high ropes, canoes, archery and the flying fox! It was a great way to continue getting to know others in our year level!

Year 9

2018

Year 9 was the year of changing friendships and everyone forming their own identities. At school it was the first year we could pick a few of our own electives. We went on MUSE and were able to go on a ski trip for the first time ever.

MUSE was exciting and fun, for those who didn’t get into any arguments with their group throughout the week. We got to experience the CBD with our classmates. Fortnite quickly became the most popular game of the year and scrunchies were everywhere. Around the world the richest baby was born, the Kiki challenge was trending and Black Panther was the biggest movie of the year. Luckily we made it through the year of the biggest changes and made it to 2019.
