ABOUT THE PROGRAM

The Johns Hopkins MA in Communication Program provides a cutting-edge curriculum that integrates digital technology with innovative strategic communication and strong writing skills. The program offers concentrations in public and media relations, political communication, health communication, digital communication, and corporate/nonprofit communication. The MA in Communication helps professionals advance in their jobs or switch their careers.

The majority of graduates report their degree facilitates professional advancement. Recent alumni include senior managers in various organizations, such as government agencies, associations, non-profits, and corporations. In addition to working and learning from communication experts, students and alumni have access to our exclusive job opportunities listings and Career Services Center.

FLEXIBLE LEARNING ENVIRONMENT

Students can earn their MA in Communication onsite—at our conveniently located Washington, DC Center; or online. Students are offered a flexible course schedule and can start and

continue their studies during the spring, summer, or fall. They have up to five years to earn their degree; most take about two years.

The Communication faculty consists of experts in academia, politics, and the professional world. Each faculty member offers classes tailored to his or her expertise and typically has multiple decades of experience in their field. In addition to offering quality instruction, our faculty also facilitates networking opportunities within Washington DC and beyond.

ADMISSIONS REQUIREMENTS

Prospective students must have:

The program admits students on a rolling basis and encourages applicants to submit their applications at least two months before the start of the desired semester.
