GOVERNMENT ANALYTICS

ABOUT THE PROGRAM

The Johns Hopkins Master of Science in Government Analytics prepares students to become leaders in the data revolution. Students will develop expertise in analytical methods that are increasingly relied upon by government agencies, non-profit organizations, and the private sector. Using cutting-edge tools and skills, students will be able to address contemporary political, policy, and governance challenges. The curriculum provides students with a broad set of foundational skills in statistical analysis and offers the opportunity to develop expertise in a specific analytical area. Our faculty is a combination of Johns Hopkins professors,

scholar-practitioners, and experts at the highest levels of government and industry. The program welcomes students from diverse academic backgrounds. No prior coursework in quantitative methods is necessary. The schedule for completing the degree is flexible. The majority of courses are offered online, though students can take some electives at the Johns Hopkins Washington, DC Center (located near Dupont Circle) if they wish. Students can take classes on a part-time or full-time basis. The average time for completion is two years.

Students must hold a bachelor’s degree prior to enrolling in the MS in Government Analytics. The program admits students on a rolling basis. In general, prospective students are encouraged to submit their application two months prior to the start of the desired term. Prospective students should complete the application online (advanced.jhu.edu/ admissions) and submit with it an application fee, statement of purpose, writing sample, resume, two letters of recommendation, and transcripts.
