PUBLIC MANAGEMENT

ABOUT THE PROGRAM

The MA in Public Management program (MPM) equips students with the strategic skills needed to meet today’s challenges in the public sector. This is accomplished by a rigorous and demanding curriculum taught by leading academics and practitioners in the fields of public policy and administration. The Johns Hopkins’ MPM degree program encompasses both the analytical and administrative side of public policy and management. The program educates students in several key disciplines: financial management, policy analysis, tax and budget policy, quantitative methods, and public administration. Students learn to apply the latest theory,

scientific findings, and new management methods to help solve real-world governance and policy issues. Courses are offered in the evening at our Washington, DC Center or online, and may be taken at a full or part time pace. All undergraduate majors are welcome. Students can take any combination of on-campus and online courses, or all on-campus or all online, to complete their degree. The Public Management program is endorsed by the Maryland Higher Education Commission and is a member of the Network of Schools of Public Policy, Affairs, and Administration (NASPAA).

Applicants are strongly encouraged to complete the application process two to four months before the start of the desired semester.
