MBA Graduate Student Home Country:  Germany As a graduate student, Catharina Salzmann has made the most of the opportunities available at JWU. She holds the position of office assistant for the Graduate Admissions Office and ran a peer mentoring initiative to provide support and resources for ESL students. She also interned for SeaAhead in the area of startup incubation. She enjoys taking workshops through JWU’s Graduate Student Association, including one on emotional intelligence. “Those extracurricular experiences were a great opportunity to expand my horizon and develop important leadership skills,” says Salzmann.

JOHNSON & WALES UNIVERSITY

Why Catharina Chose JWU for her Graduate Education “As soon as I was accepted, the graduate admissions team offered to put me in contact with a German student already enrolled at JWU. She answered all of my questions and helped me start my journey to JWU before I left my home. We still talk and meet regularly. I couldn’t believe how smooth my transition to JWU was.”

Major:  Advertising & Marketing Communications Home Country:  Indonesia An ambitious and hard-working student, Mohammad Syarief Ali, has come to think of JWU’s Providence Campus as his second home. He has helped other students feel at home here, too. For more than a year, Ali has worked as a student ambassador, giving campus tours to prospective students and their families, sharing what he has learned about JWU and Providence. He has also been involved with several student organizations, including serving as university senator for the Student Government Association, as treasurer

It has a thriving music, arts and theater scene and attracts people from across the globe. Providence is fed by award-winning restaurants, many of which were founded and staffed by our graduates, who loved the city so much they stayed.
