Community not just a noun, but a state of mind.
1. A diverse and inclusive group of people who believe in the power of education
2. A campus with no true borders, blending in perfect harmony with the surrounding city of Providence
3. Students, faculty and staff working together to learn, grow, create and make an impact on the world around them
4. A pillar of the Wildcat Way Pride, Courage, Character and Community are the pillars of the Wildcat Way.
“The community of JWU is truly like no other. Being in a small city with a small community of JWU kids (compared to other schools) brings so much comfort to know we are all connected and unified in one way or another.”
Stephanie Pezzullo ’24 Graphic Design

Providence (Rhode Island) Divine
Our city was dubbed “Providence” (meaning divine guidance or care) because its founders felt drawn here. They were in search of a place where they could freely explore new ideas, express themselves and support one another — and boy did they find it.
Nearly 400 years later, these ideas still make it a destination for all kinds of career opportunities and creative endeavors, even earning us the nickname “Creative Capital.” Whatever you want to call it, Providence is a small city with big energy that you need to experience in person.
“Being within walking distance to local restaurants, performance centers and the harbor creates a sense of accessibility that makes student life so fun!”
