effortless. If you’re the type that likes exploring new places, you couldn’t pick a better spot. Connected by buses and trains, the city is just an hour south of Boston and four hours (give or take) from New York City. But if you’re looking for something to do a little closer to campus, we’ve got that covered too. Being in the Ocean State means you have access to beautiful Rhode Island beaches, roughly 100 of them, in as little as 40 minutes.

They call Providence the “Creative Capital” for a reason: It has a thriving music, arts, and theater scene, and has been ranked by Forbes as one of the “Best Places for Business and Careers” and by CNN as “The USA’s Most Artsy City.” The city is also home to artists, professionals, leaders and innovators, making it a culturally diverse experience. It also has more restaurants per capita than any other city, many of which were founded and are staffed by our graduates.

GET TO KNOW THE CHARLOTTE CAMPUS
The Charlotte location was established as a combined effort between the university, the city and industry partners, meaning it’s incredibly plugged into Uptown. There’s even a DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Charlotte on campus where hospitality students can hone their craft, and a Student Innovation Lab where business students can brainstorm ideas for future entrepreneurial ventures. Charlotte has never been your typical sleepy southern town. It’s impossible to deny that there is a rejuvenated spirit everywhere you go.
Charlotte was recently ranked the 15th biggest city in the U.S. in terms of population growth. Much of the growth comes from young adults attending university — and that community has brought new life to the city. A sprawling metropolitan area with 199 neighborhoods that radiate out from Uptown, Charlotte is also a major financial center. Forbes ranks it among the best places for business and Global Trade ranks it the No. 1 “Most Entrepreneurial City.” The city is filled with shopping and restaurants around every corner, and Uptown always has something new featuring great music, arts and a vibrant nightlife. When you’re ready to eat, you’ll love the Charlotte food scene because many of the restaurants, bars and coffee shops are dominated by JWU graduates.
