The word méta- is a prefix which always positions itself before the root of another word to re-define the initial meaning of it. Hence the meaning of méta- varies depending on the context and could means ‘beyond’, ‘after’, ‘adjacent’, ‘self’. métaindicates a concept which is an abstraction from another concept used to complete or add to the latter. The key metaphor in our design process is to position ourselves always in the front line and beyond any creation.

The importance of Pushkinsky Theatre in Moscow has a symbolic and narrative quality in film industry in Russia. Its strategic location intersecting with Pushkin Square has imprinted its role as Moscow’s landmark. The new façade design offered an essential identity about performing, representing and show-time to welcome the audiences like the oxygen flows into main and side arteries. CALLIMORPHIC BELVEDERE TAICHUNG, TAIWAN
Callimorphic means beautiful shape. Callimorphic Belvedere is inpired by Chinese brush stroke which symbolize beauty, emotion and culture. The quality of ‘the black and white’ is driven by the stage of emotion. The Callimorhphic Belvedere is a pursuit of the beauty in Chinese calligraphy through computational mutation on structural tectonic and investigation on dynamic geometry. We are interested in the artistic expression of Chinese calligraphy, particularly in the dynamic movement of the Chinese stroke- the contrast of blackness of ink and the whiteness of the paper, the disappearing of the ink with tectonic expression of the brush, the trace of the movement expressing hint of the inner state of the calligraphy artist. The Callimorphicbelvedere functions as a viewing tower and a museum showcasing Taichung’s history and growth. This office building ascends from the ground to intercept with the tower, forming the main lift hall and transfer level. The cantilever offers spectacular experience of the longest escalator which brings the visitor to the café area and the ballroom with spectacular view towards the main avenue.

PUZZLING ZENITH NOUMEA, NEW CALEDONIE
Puzzling Zenith concentrates on non-traditional bracing structure. This project proposed the new evolution of structure which provides certain qualities, not only as structure but also ornament. By studying the traditional cross-bracing and go against its simplicity, it allows achieving a new structural creation by exploring the mesh/triangulation bracing system combined with the puzzling idea. Beside its unique structure, Puzzling Zenith provides multifunctional hall which can be used as concert hall, ballroom, catwalk runway, etc. With the stage connected to the outdoor stadium, this system allows the zenith to combine the indoor hall and outdoor stadium to become a super grand concert hall.

GERMINO-MORPHIC BCP HK-SHENZHEN, CHINA
Germino-morphic BCP is a Boundary Control Point between Hong Kong and Shenzhen. The site is divided by the Shenzhen river as the limit between these 2 major cities. Germino means growing and Morphic defines the meaning of morphing. The project is inspired by the intersection between the nature and the artifice which is the common scene in these two cities. With its humide climate, the nature has been growing together and blending with the artifice like buildings. The intersection point between HK and SZ is located in the bridge above river. It is not only a mean of connecting the cities but also the symbol of the harmony between the nature and the building which then grows to form the building creating each entrances.

THOUSAND INSCRIPTION HK-SHENZHEN, CHINA
Thousand Inscription is a Boundary Control Point between Hong Kong and Shenzhen. The principal strategy of this proposal is to inscribe an explicit, fluid connection between two disjoined territories while maintaining the discrete identities of both. The traditional Chinese calligraphy immerses subjective affects into the objective presence of ink and void on paper through the movement of brush strokes in time and space. Graphic qualities arise from the negotiation of positive shapes inscribed by dark ink, and negative whitespace in the empty void. Such movement is frozen when articulated onto a two dimensional canvas. Analogous to spatial and tempral phenomenon associated to a set of multiple brush strokes, this proposal inscribes three classifications of programmatic movements

JOHN ROBERT POWERS JAKARTA, INDONESIA
Located in the North of Jakarta, John Robert Powers’ Kelapa Gading branch proposed a new identity and a fresh atmosphere to re-animate its role as an institution specialized in ethic and manner in Indonesia. The space organisation is inspired by sliding boxes with different color for each box. The different color identifies each room according to its function. The freshness starts from the entrance door by introducing the wavy random wooden boxes on the reception desk. The bright wood color is contrasted by the dark back wall. To introduce an interesting waiting room, the pattern continues to create a feature wall with racks composition.

ORIGAMI SHELTER WUHAN, CHINA
Origami Shelter focus on paper as a material to be studied in both the physical and digital space. Paper is a ‘flexible material’; the ease to fold, cut, twist and mass fabricate give paper an ‘immateriality’ and ‘digital’ property comparable to the flexibility in computational forms. The intention is to physically mimic the paper folds and twists produced by the computer, as well as replicate in the virtual space the forms created in reality. Origami Shelter is a participation for annual HUST exhibition in China.

300 SPARTANS WUHAN, CHINA
Metal is a material that known for its durability. Our intension of this installation is to make use of this quality of metal to enable construction of an unfold-able skin. Starting from inspiration of the leave geometry and interlocking unitize component, the design evolve to become a top down construction of strips of folded metal plates. This project is also inspired by the lighting effect when the sun shine through the tree, we wanted to try to capture some of this aesthetic in this work to create a lighting feature wall which warped around a column and morph horizontally to the wall.

THE DNA WUHAN, CHINA
Bending is a material quality of wood. With the inherent strength of the material to return back to its original shape, we try to investigate a way of utilizing the quality of this method. Through investigation of 3d tessellation using geometrically stable forms, we invented a new way of orienting the shapes in 3D space. This method call 3D tiling would be structurally stable and flexible as it allows different path of forces onto the ground. The construction of this lighting installation is extremely fast and the work is constructed without the use of drawing but directly from 3D modeling and logic of the construction.

WAVE CHAIR
HEX CHAIR
This chair, named the wave chair is a work we try to capture the beauty of the curve in nature. Inspired by the curves of mountains, we would like to combine this aestheticwith the idea of comfort within the same object.
The idea of hex chair is to minimize material wastage. The chair is created through folding and cutting from a hexagonal grid. This way of production means there would be no waster of material and could be mass produced. The chair available in different colors and patterns, allow the user to customize to the context the chair seats in. The chair may be also folded back to flat version to allow saving of space when the chair is not needed.
SINGAPORE
The chair is design to seat on the slide of the swimming pool, lying low to allow people to enjoy the sun shine. The chair is made up of two overlapping curves that function as the seat and hand rest respectively. The simplicity of the design give an extra joy for the user of the chair.
