Guidelines for Registration to Interactive Library Portal iBiblioteka.lt LIBIS library card entitles its user with an access to use digital information services provided by ibiblioteka.lt (Interactive Library Portal). It covers: access to online resources, reference services, digital/print copy requests, free/paid services. Follow the guidelines to set up a digital account for yourself and you will gain access to a number of online full-text resources from Lithuania National Library!

Find your LIBIS library card. It is issued at the central or any branch public library in Lithuania and costs 7 Litas.

Register to create an account at interactive library portal http://ibiblioteka.lt .

1 LCC Library


Use the registration format on the left side of the screen.

Fill in the details.

Next step would be to confirm the registration. There would be an email with an active link to confirm your registration. Or, you may go directly to http://ibiblioteka.lt and sign in with the name you have chosen at the registration stage or Library card number that you find on the back side of LIBIS card. Your last name should be used for a password when you are signing in for the 1st time. You will be able to change it later.

3 LCC Library


Next you will need to make some changes in your profile. Click on the name to access the profile.

Find the field – Registered libraries and click on View library’s profile. You should see the list of libraries you have registered in. But your aim is to become a user of the Lithuania National Library. If its name does not come up in your list, you would need to register for the new library. Click on Registration in the new library. You should see quite a long list of libraries in a network. Select - Lietuvos Nacionalinė Martyno Mažvydo Biblioteka.

You may also want to select all or some of Klaipeda region libraries. Do not forget to agree with the rules! And, submit the changes.

Another confirmation about your registration to the Lithuania National Library will be emailed to you. Confirm that too.

4 LCC Library


Now, when you officially become a patron of the LNB, you have a right to request access to online databases. You will need to send a short email to e-info@lnb.lt . The email should include your first and last names, the number of LIBIS library card and your email address. Do not forget to mention you need access to online databases. It says in the instruction that access is granted in 24 hours. You should be getting access and computer setup information to your email. It should be a proxy server code for your internet browser that will enable you to access all licensed online databases of the Lithuania National Library from your computer in Klaipeda. Online databases by be accessed via this website - http://www.lnb.lt/duomenu-bazes/abecelinis-sarasas All databases marked with a sign should be accessible for distant user.
