RECOLETOS 4TH CENTENNIAL GYMNASIUM – Recoletos Educational Apostolate in the Philippines (REAP) head Rev. Fr. Julius M. Marcos, OAR presided on November 11 the Eucharistic Celebration for the opening of the 29th Students’ Congress of Recollect Schools hosted by San Sebastian College-Recoletos de Cavite. In his homily, Marcos emphasized that new evangelization is about spreading the good news of God by telling people how God loves everyone. “Our objective now is to find the love of God in this [congress], and experience it. If we do not experience that, then we fail to achieve the objective of our gathering,” he said. 106 participants coming from different OAR schools all over the country joined this year’s congress with the theme, “Recollect Youth: Sent Forth as Witnesses of New Evangelization.” High School
Principal Dr. Ferdinand T. Callueng served as the executive chairman of the congress, and High School Students’ Activity Coordinator Mr. Paolo Antonio C. Noceda assisted as the over-all committee chairperson. Participating schools include the University of San JoseRecoletos Basak and Balamban Campuses, University of Negros Occidental-Recoletos, Colegio San Nicolas de Tolent ino-R e coletos, Colegio de Santo TomasRecoletos, San Pedro Academy-Recoletos, San Pedro Academy Valencia, San Sebastian CollegeRecoletos Manila, and
San Sebastian CollegeRecoletos de Cavite. Prior to the Eucharistic celebration, a welcome ceremony was conducted by the Citizenship Advancement Training (CAT) officers and cadets of the SSC-R de Cavite Basic Education Department.

CAÑACAO CAMPUS – As part of the activities during the first day of the Students’ Congress of Recollect Schools, delegates coming from different OAR schools participated in a sports festival featuring traditional Caviteño games in order to build camaraderie among student-participants.
