The gasworld logo is made up of two elements, the sphere graphic and the gasworld word. The ‘gas’ is bold to place emphasis on the industry the company is involved in and to differentiate between the two aspects that make up the company name. The graduating lines give a distinctly ‘gassy’ feel, with the overall sphere shape indicating a globe. The ‘sphere’ graphic hints at fingers interlocking giving the feeling of community. The use of Arial for the gasworld word and the use of the deep blue are intended to give an authoritative, business-like tone and help the logo achieve a timelessness and simplicity. It is this simplicity that enables the logo to work effectively across all media, from magazines to exhibition graphics and online.

LOGO USAGE The gasworld ‘blue’ logo is the preferred logo and should be the default. The logo can be used in different colours depending on the situation and can be reversed out in white. The black or reversed-out logo should be used on all Business Intelligence materials. Tints of the gasworld blue should not be used on printed materials as purples and lilacs are often the result. The gasworld colour palette is specified on page 09.

The sphere shape and gasworld word should not be separated, unless in unique circumstances – the Favicon in a web browser for example. Each business unit can use the appropriate subhead below the logo. This is always in lowercase Century Gothic Regular.
If the logo needs to be embroidered or there is a case where graduations cannot be acheived, the ‘banded’ logo below should be used.

Minimum logo sizes in print and online should be adhered to in order for the logo to maintain adequate quality.

The logo should not use one of the subheads when appearing below 40mm wide in print. The same applies should the logo be used below 300 pixels wide on screen.
For the gasworld logo to maintain impact and clarity, the immediate area surrounding the logo must remain clear. The required space around the logo is ‘X’, where ‘X’ equals the x-height of the letters in the logo.

Consideration should be given to the gasworld logo when placing in the corners of printed material. In the case of an A4 page, the logo should appear at least 10mm from the trim edge of the page.

Careful consideration must be given when placing the logo close to graphics, on or near photos or graphic elements. Either a dark logo or reversed-out logo should be chosen based on achieving maximum clarity.
The logo must appear as in this style guide, it must not be squashed, distorted or placed diagonally.
