Health & Nutrition Not only is biking an adventure, it several fitness benefits tied into it. A relaxing bike ride (<10mph) burns on average 281 calories per hour. That is an 1,000+ calories for a 5 hour bike ride.
The human body is made of anywhere from 55% to 78% water depending on body size. A rule of thumb, 2/3 of body is consists of water, and it is the main component of human body. In today’s world, there are a lot “alternative means to hydrate your body. From gatorade to powerade, althetic companies have been producing new formulas to appeal to taste and keep us hydrated. However, nothing is better than old fashion water. It is what our bodies require to stay alive, and is the healthiest choice we can make. Water flushes toxins out of vital organs, carries nutrients to your cells, and provieds a moist environment for ear, nose, and throat tissue. A lack of water can lead to dehydration. Even mild dehydration can drain you energy and make you very tired. We should drink a gallon of water a day, even more of you are athletically active. 10 BEAU

Having a blanced diet of fruits and vegetables is a sure way to loose weight, stay healthy, and fight cancer and other chronic diseases. Bananas are a strong source of potassium, and apples are rich in antioxidant compounds.
Smoothies are as close to a perfect meal you can get delicious, nutritous, and fast. You can get all the protein and carbs you need to start your day in a drink that takes little time to prepare. The best ingredients to use are, bananas, apples, flax seeds, low fat peanut butter, greek yogurt, and dragon fruit. You can even add small amounts of honey (avoid artificial sweeterns) to sweetn up the blends. A smoothie before a workout and a soothie after a workout will keep you going and full of enegery.
When most people think about running , they immediately dread the thought. Running is what we as humans have been programmed to do since the dawn of time. Once you get into a regular schedule, you can do 3.5 miles as a wram up. If you haven’t ever run on a regular basis, the trick to start with a power jog, and work your way up. The next thing you know, you will be running marathons.
Fitness
The two tricks to any type of training is to stick with it and not not judge yourself based on others. If you have never run before, start with a light power walk and build up to a full run. This process takes time, but if you take it slow and work up to your goal at a gradual pace, the next thing you know will be running 3.5 miles,...as a warm up.
Let’s face it, who doesn’t want cut six pack abs and pecs that are as hard as steel? The trick is finding a balance between, cardio workouts, and core and abdominal exercises. Cardio workouts are what jumpstart our heart rates and “set the mood” for your weight work out. Utilizing the tread mill and eliptical
machines for a mere 15 minutes will allow you to start burning abdominal obscuring fat and start building your core. Abdominal exercise can be the most painful exercises you do, but are worth it in the end. These excersies include one arm suitcase deadlifts, hanging leg raises, plate transfer planks, and standing press.
Achieving a broad back is one of the toughest challenges you can face in the gym. However, you can easily incorporate a back and shoulder workout into your arm workout. Focus on exercises that broaden your range of motion and utilize your shoulders. Squats, cable cross-overs, dead -lifts, and pull ups are the best for a broader back. Like any work out routine, make it just that, a routine. Don’t slack off and the next thing you know, you will have a cut back.

HOW TO pack a carry on
We’ve all had it happen. You don’t want to ruin your trip with lost, stolen or damaged luggage, so use these tips to keep calm and carry on. Choose the right bag: go for a carry-on no larger than 45 inches (length plus width plus height). Wear your heavier items on the plane: the outercoat or boots you want to bring will take up too much space in you bag. Maximize your personal item: pack your leftover items into a large personal bag that will fit under your seat. Dont forget to put all of the items that you want to use on the plane in this bag. Roll your clothes: this minimizes wrinkles and maximizes space Color cordinate bring clothes that can be mixed and matched to create different outfits.

Winter Accessories
GLOVES When it starts to get cold, the part of our body that pays the most is our hands. By outfitting ourselves with a strong leather or light knit, we can keep our mobility with out our hands without them freezing. Finger tipless gloves are the best when you need you fingertips.
SCARVES Even in today’s world, scarves
are still considered taboo. It’s looked down upon for them to wear scarves regardless of how stylish or in season they may be. Not only do scarves add to the silloutte, they also play a key part in keeping our necks warm. And by keeping our necks warm, they allow our bodies to retain up to 50% of our body heat. During the winter months when it’s time to start bundeling up, this can keep us cozy and warm in our winter outfits. The best scarf to wear is one made of cashmier wool or thick but breathable cotton. You can accessorize them with anything from jeans and a T-Shirt to a blazer and top coat.

HATS The quickest way we get sick is when our heads get cold. Wearring a hat, while not only being fashioable, can prevent us from catching a cold. In this day and age we cannot afford to get sick with all the hustle and bussle going on. Wool caps or Russion style hats are a safe bet becasue they keep your ears warm and are usually made of soft wool or faux fur, adding to the warmth.

Portrait of a
Gentleman:
Archibald Alexander Leach was born on January 18, 1904 at 15 Hughenden Road, Horfield, Bristol, U.K. to Elsie Maria Kingdon and Elias James Leach. An only child, Leach had an unhappy upbringing, attending Bishop Road Primary School. His mother had suffered from clinical depression since the death of a previous child. Her husband placed her in a mental institution, and told his nineyear-old son only that she had gone away on a “long holiday.“ Believing she was dead, Grant did not learn otherwise until he was 31 and discovered her alive in a care facility. When grant was 10, his father abandoned him after remarrying and having a baby with his new young wife. After being expelled from school in 1918 and joining the “Bob Pender Stage Troupe,“ Leach performed as a stilt walker and traveled with the group to the United States in 1920 at the age of 16. 24 BEAU

Durring the two year tour in the U.S., Leach decided to stay and continue his stage career which he became a part of the vaudeville world where he gained experience in “phenomenal physical grace and exquisite comic timing“ and

He proposed “Cary Lockwood“ which referred to the character he had played in the Broadway show Nikki. He signed with Paramount Pictures, where studio bosses decided that the name “Cary“ was acceptable, but “Lockwood“ was too similar to another actor’s surname. Paramound then

Grant appeared as a leading man opposite Marlene Dietrich in Blond Venus (1932), and his stardom was given a further boost by Mae West when she chose him for her leading man in two of her most successful films: She Done Him Wrong and I’m No Angel (both 1933). In this way, Grant was able to control every aspect of his career. Although he was nominated for two Academy Awards, for Penny Serenade (1941) and None But the Lonely Heart (1944), Grant never won a competitive Oscar; he received a special Academy Award for Lifetime Achievement in 1970. Cary Grant retired from the screen at age 62 when his daughter, Jennifer, was born. Although he passed away at the age of 82 on November 29, 1986, he is remebered as a gentleman of the century.

Another year has come and gone leaving many changes in it’s wake. The elections seem to have divided our nation as opposed to united us as followed the tragic events of September 11, 2001. Feuds between families, friends, neighbors and communities strained and/or severed relationships. amien Hirst’s retrospective exhibition at London’s Tate Modern drew nearly half a million visitors. Although it turned out there were heavy losses. The gallery says 9,000 butterflies died during a 23-week run of the solo show. One of Hirst’s most important early creations, “In and Out of Love”, featured thousands of live butterflies, and was made up of two works. In the humid upstairs room, tropical butterflies emerged from pupae attached to white painted canvases. Flowers and sugar water enabled them to fly, mate and lay eggs until they died. Hirst’s second installation featured monochrome gloss paintings with the bodies of dead butterflies fixed into the paint. The 47-year-old artist used tropical butterflies from the Owl and Heliconius species that can live for up to nine months in their natural habitat. Those featured at the exhibition reportedly survived for between a few hours and several days. Hirst made his name as the creator of a shark preserved in formaldehyde, and Mother and Child Divided, a cow and a calf sliced in half and displayed in glass tanks filled with formaldehyde, which won the Turner prize in 1995. The British artist explained he “tried to make a comparison between art and life in the upstairs and downstairs installations, a crazy thing to do when in the end it’s all art.”
