Landscape Designer, ASLA-MN Travis van Liere Studio, Minneapolis, MN November 2021 – Present At Travis van Liere Studio, I have brought my technological talents along with project management experience. Day to day I can work between drafting in CAD, 3D modeling, to creating presentation for clients. I excel in communication and strive to maintain a high standard of developed work throughout anything that I create. Currently, my most notable work is the project management of White Oaks Savanna Development in Grant, MN. This is a landscape driven development that recognizes the importance of land maintenance and stewardship.
Landscape Designer, ASLA-MN Ten x Ten, Minneapolis, MN October 2021 – November 2021 Work performed at Ten x Ten was done on an hourly contractual basis. I provided support to their landscape architecture and design team through all phases of the design process. I helped to maintain their design standards and to ensure quality work with all members of their team.
Associate Landscape Designer, ASLA-MN 02 Design (formerly oslund.and.assocaites) June 2021 – August 2021 My role at O2 Design was to assist in data center designs around the world. This unique work examines large scale master planning all the way down to detail drawings and construction documentation. I also was able to leverage my technical skills in CAD (computer aided drawing) and Adobe to create presentations for clients.
Landscape Design Intern, ASLA-MN LHB Corp, Minneapolis, MN (Work from home)
May 2020 to May 2021 My role at LHB was part-time support to their landscape architecture team. I aided in creating punch lists for completed projects, wetland mapping and permitting with their Duluth office, and plan renderings for work in their design pipeline.
Teaching Assistant LA 2301/5376 “Advanced Representation for Environmental Design” University of Minnesota – Twin Cities – College of Design – Landscape Architecture September 2020 – December 2020 A 195 hour appointment assisting Professor DeBritto during the Fall 2020 Semester teaching the Adobe Suite to both undergraduate and graduate students. This course consisted of online discussions, Zoom class meetings, and office hours to help students. I was awarded a Thank A Teacher recognition for my role in helping student success from the University of Minnesota.
Clinton N. Hewitt Fellow, ASLA-MN University of Minnesota – Twin Cities – College of Design – Landscape Architecture January 2020 – May 2020 This position as a research fellow was to utilize a 195 hour appointment while full time in the Masters of Landscape Architecture program at the University of Minnesota. The purpose of this fellowship was to research security & safety in landscape architecture as it pertains to campus planning. The final product from this fellowship was a +50 source non-peer-reviewed annotated bibliography for the Landscape Architecture Department Head.
Graduate Research Assistant, ASLA-MN University of Minnesota – Twin Cities – Center for Urban and Regional Affairs (C.U.R.A.) August 2019 – January 2020 Megwayaak Project – “…in the woods” - A 195hr appointment to develop a nature-based play space on the Leech Lake Ojibwe Reservation in Cass Lake, Minnesota. The Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe wanted an outdoor classroom and master plan for their 5 years and younger children's group that could not only supplement an existing curriculum, but possibly be replicated to other centers on the Leech Lake Reservation and region of Northern Minnesota. The final product was a master plan document, a full budget showing a phased approach grant funding options, and full construction ready documents.
Design & Construction Coordinator, ASLA-MN, CPSI
Flagship Recreation, Lake Elmo, MN January 2016 – July 2019 My role at Flagship Recreation was one of many hats. On a daily basis I would work on anywhere from 1 to 10 projects at various steps within the design and build timeline. My role was to not only be on the front end of designs informing clients about the playground construction process, but also manager of all installations across Minnesota. I also designed certain play spaces with closer client relations, created grading and technical plans, met with community members, and submitted and tracked invoicing and payment orders. Through all of this, I maintained high quality control standards, maintained budgets and margins, and Flagship Recreation was named the 2018 Landscape Structure's "Rep of the Year" for top performing rep group globally.

Kusske Lecture + Dialogue Series: Frank Gehry – Panel discussion (2021) The Kusske Design Initiative was created at the University of Minnesota to honor the legacy of the Landscape Architecture alumni Christopher Kusske. This series fosters interdisciplinary discussions around the design industry and the design process. The series was kicked off by inviting famed architect Frank Gehry FAIA to talk about his life’s work. After the talk, a panel discussion investigated the role of material innovation in the fields of landscape architecture and product design. “Southside Shine” Documentary - Minneapolis South High School (2021) This is part of the TPT Originals Series spotlighting the history of racial covenant and redlining in South Minneapolis. Student at Minneapolis South High wrote and directed this series after the murder of George Floyd. I was asked to be interviewed for their project due to my graduate capstone work at the infamous Kmart site in South Minneapolis.
