The Walker Art Center in Minneapolis, MN went under construction in 2015 to reconstruct both the famed Sculpture Gardens as well as the main entrance to the museum itself. A request for proposal was sent out to the local artist community looking for new designs for their Artist Designed Mini-Golf. The Walker was keeping 13 of the original holes and added 5 new ones. My design was accepted, constructed, and added to The Gardens in 2016 after the completion of the renovation. More holes have been changed out over the years, but Tale of Two Cities remains on the rooftop of The Walker to this day. Design intent was to create a Minnesota themed hole that uses one of Minnesota's most valuable natural resources, The Mississippi River, to force a decision out of golfers, Minneapolis or St. Paul. This is a decision older than time. The Iron Range is represented by the cup you are trying to get the ball into, and Eagles Points acts as a difficult barrier to get past if your ball goes astray.
