The Cubic Construct Architectureal Design I Fall 2007 Professor Allan Watters
The Cubic Construct began with a series of tectonic and stereotomic cubes. One tectonic and one stereotomic cube were forced together to create a new construct. From this a series of sections were taken then stitched together providing the framework for the last cube. With the addition of programmatic spaces for a wax sculptor and cartographer as well as common spaces for each in the form of a room and garden. The final cubes explores the notion of a spatial hinge which transitions from horizontal to vertical and becomes the meeting point for both the Wax Sculptor and Cartographer.
