The XS has a design visually near-identical to the X but includes upgraded hardware, featuring the A12 Bionic chip built with a 7 nanometer processor. It also features a 5.85inch (149 mm) OLED display and contains dual 12-megapixel rear cameras and one 7-megapixel front-facing camera. The XS Max features the same hardware and cameras, but has a larger 6.46inch (164 mm) OLED display and battery. It was also noted by the media that the XS received a smaller battery than that of the X. Apple claims that the devices have faster Face ID technology.
APPLE WATCH SERIES 4 Series 4 represents a fundamental redesign and re‑engineering of Apple Watch. From the curved corners of the larger, all‑new display to the architecture of the S4 chip, every detail has been thoughtfully considered. Apple Watch has always been a uniquely personal product. And now it’s even more powerful. The display is the defining feature of Apple Watch, and Series 4 pushes it further than ever. The challenge
was to make it bigger without noticeably increasing the size of the case or compromising the battery life. Narrower borders enable a viewing area that’s over 30 per cent larger, while a new display technology called LTPO improves power efficiency, helping you get through the day on a single charge. Curved corners precisely match the radius of the case, creating a more pleasing, continuous appearance.

THE STORY OF THE NEW PROTEA GIN
O
by Melanie Burger
oo yes, it’s a thing of beauty, right? Clean and modern with bends at all the right places, while still keeping it earthy and authentic. This exceptional 100% biodegradable bottle was made by local potter Jade Snell Ceramics. Husband and wife
team, Nic and Andri, who established themselves as young passionate craft gin pioneers in Woodstock in 2016, unveiled their latest creation on social media a few days ago, aptly named Protea Gin. Protea Gin is produced by first sourcing the best neutral grain spirit and then rectifying it at the distillery with a
unique copper catalysation process to ensure ultimate smoothness. Nectar from individual Suikerbossie Protea’s are harvested by hand and add to a 13 botanical infusion. Only 200 bottles were distilled and retail directly from the distillery for R1200
per 500ml bottle. When making our Protea Gin we harvest this nectar from individual Suikerbossie flowers by hand, squeezing the flower gently. Added is an additional floral layer to this soft and syrup like Gin.
“A unique Vacuum Distilled Gin, that is inspired by the rich Fynbos biodiversity of the Western Cape, defined by bright juniper, a soft nectar floral aroma, and complex citrus and spice finish.”

VIDA E CAFFE COFFEE CAPSULES LUCAS WAKAMATSU RESONANCE SODA CAN DESIGN PACKAGING DESIGN by Robert Hollander

ove over, George Clooney, because there’s a new premium coffee capsule coming to a kitchen near you. Let’s be real: there’s not one Nespresso user that isn’t upset over the fact that you can only get capsules at either the Waterfront or Century City – and their e-commerce site is so clunky, forget it! Seth knows how off-putting the inconve-
nience is, and the office has heard a few such rants over the years. Up in Jozi, Pretoria and Durban the struggle is also real, and if you’re not in one of those cities then kiss your capsules goodbye. Thankfully, however, we have found the ideal alternative that has a few perks to write home about. With more than 200 stores nationwide – on high streets, in Shell forecourts, and in malls
– you can be assured that getting your convenient coffee fix is easier than ever because, well, Vida e Caffè has brought out their own branded capsules. Not only are they recyclable, so you don’t have to sip on guilt-tainted coffee, but Vida has launched an extensive range that bring you their amazing flavours wherever it is your coffee station is located.

ucas Wakamatsu also known as Lucas Waka is a twenty one year old freelance illustrator from Brazil. He is currently finishing his final year studying graphic design at São Paulo State University. He already has built up an impressive portfolio of work. His latest project is for a fictional soda drink called Resonance. Lucas designed and illustrated the graphics and packaging for four unique cans. Illustrating kaleidoscopic compositions on otherwise
simply branded goods, Lucas turns ordinarily drab drinking vessels into colorful and creative containers worth collecting. The designer from brazil, created four ‘sensations’ to subtly indicate the different flavors of the soda inside. drawn on one, a figure jumps through a multicolored wormhole that leads to an unknown abyss; another sees a hybrid-human surrounded by pink and purple polka dots; a third sees a female figure clouded in a fog of colorful and abstract shapes; and a final male illustration is encircled in planetary-like rings and enveloped by ameba-esque geometries. ‘the colorful forms in each one represent the beverage, pulsing in different vibes, being shaped by different frequencies,’ he describes. a series of animated gifs give life to the static imagery, adding an alternate and dynamic dimension to traditional packaging.
