Clyborn Home This Tuscan home style design is as much about simplicity as it is about the strategic use of plaster, wrought iron, recycled wood and space. Vaulted ceilings, plastered walls and old timber for frames and ceilings to bring us back to Europe even if located in North Hollywood.

Le Arbor Retreat The Le Arbor Retreat is a mixed use housing and community center. This project is located in the diverse city of Eagle Rock California. This regional area's climate consisted of desert heat and rocky hillsides. The project was developed through an analysis and response to the site, the design of massing and orientation, envelope and aperture, passive heating and cooling and daylighting strategies.

San Pedro Coastal Park The development of this project was created through the use of a systematic program that was governed by the properties of inflection or to inflect. This systematic program was developed from the pre-existing contours that influenced to inflect and respond own properties; while simultaneously, extracting the designer from the form. This processes gave way to a very spontaneous and organic form. This form was then take to a new transformations when the form was ask to accept a scheduled program.

San Pedro Coastal Park The architectural strategy is to identify zones within the site and notate its relationship to its surroundings. After studying the zones properties a directional path establish and vector force is created. Vectors are forces that can only move in a single direction until an opposing force collides with the force changing its path. The change in direction is identified as an STUDY inflection, DRAINAGE furthermore, theSHADOW point of coalition is called the inflection point. In final, the goal in this project is to identify forces find its directionality, then establish how one force will effect to another to create harmony among the site. ∞

Purlieu Odyssey Dwelling "Transitional dwelling to unite the world" This pod was developed to provide refuge to youth age transitioning out of the foster care system. This intricate collapsible design is created to be affordable and can be transported using only a bicycle. By detaching the structure from the ground to free itself from permanency we can liberate the structure from a costly union to one plot of land. Unlike traditional fixed construction this dwelling pod is not bound to the location it was built. It can quickly be assembled and disassembled making a perfect asset for disaster relief. When a ventilation system is activated, the dwelling pod swells into shape like a modern age textile flower. The pods structure is a lightweight inflatable exoskeleton that provides rigidity while creating a weather proof protective skin.

M.O.C.A. Box Welcome to the Museum of contemporary Art. Inspired by the influence of Le Corbusier’s philosophy of isolated free forms and a study precedent of Herzog and De Meuron’s The Vitra Haus. In this Project I sought to allow the arch's influences to lead the design.

30

The arches are stacked in a way that the crashs between the forms justified the design and the complicity of the space.

The site shares a lot at the pacific design center located in the West Hollywood region of Los Angele, California

The building was constructed out of solid forms that were then stacked to then give the impression of random placement. Then found that the sporadic placement was caused by the desire to separate ones self from the work to have the form admired for the beauty and its Presence. 32

The project was a 2016 Woodbury architecture student project of four. The team included Anthony Rodriguez, Helmer Douglas, Aaron Castaneda and "I" Jose Delgado. Working together the project was built for the Bow-tie parcel as part of the Agency for Civic Engagement (ACE) Spring Design Studio. "The primary goal of the studio is to explore the potential of low technology, high impact design interventions as a means of better understanding community needs along this future public park site in Northeast Los Angeles." 36

In Motion, In Space BIO-MIMICRY "Science itself is dependent on repeatable and MEASURABLE occurrences and is a system which allows for the determination of logical ideas of causality in the world" - Stephen Turk on William Forsythe's 'One Flat Thing.' This project explored the roles of mapping and notation in the realm of spatial representation. As a media we used stop-motion photography, as pioneered by Etienne Jules Marey and Eadweard Muybridge, in the analysis of the intricate algorithmic choreography to be found in William Forsythe’ s One Flat Thing.

From Sound to Form UNDERSTANDING YOUR ENVIRONMENT THROUGH SOUND “Acoustics follows materiality as a complement to presence. As an example, a person whom is blind folded and standing in a middle of an open room can still be aware of the span of a space.”

44

By understanding sound in relationship to the built environment I hope to enhance the architectural experience beyond sight. When engaging sound during the design phase we can design to activate one’s focal auditory field, we can distinguish direction for the blind, and we can enhance sense of place within one’s own mind before ever activating visual sensory. By combining the study of Don Ihde and Kenneth Frampton I hope to open new possibilities, and shift the way we view architecture or in this case hear architecture. With the aid of digital design/ digital fabrication we can now design beyond our 2 dimensional dependent visual field and replace it for a spherical build environment.

Philosophers such as Frampton[1], have theorized that there is an underline connection between materiality and human presence. Frampton believes that the human presence is the link between the physical and nonphysical world. In his theory of the visual and tactile, both visually and the other human senses should take a part while designing. The correspondence between all senses makes architecture deeper and one of a kind. This concept supports the usage of all materials which marks all senses and that will allow variable emotional reactions. To complement our normative visual experience by redirecting the tactile range of human perceptions. For example, we are using the theory that Frampton has presented in front of us and we are moving beyond the

crutches of sight to develop architecture. We are developing via our tactile range specified to sound which in return will evoke a wider range of human perception towards the development of architecture. Experience from seeing, hearing and feeling things from everyday life has made it possible for a person to have dimensional awareness and yet without even realizing you have the potential to see things through sound. Ihde states “I also note that I can switch my focal auditory “ray” from one sound to another without even turning my head. I can discern the sounds from the window to my right and from behind the irksome whine of the stove fan motor. My auditory field and my auditory focusing is not isomorphic with visual field and focus, it is omni-directional. In the shape of the auditory field, as a surrounding thing, the field-shape “exceeds” that of the fieldshape of sight”. [1]Beyazlı, Mehmet. "“Six Points for an Architectural Resistance Frampton “." to the surrounding sounds such as the tapping of shoes, the shuffling of papers, and the breathing of someone next to him, his recorder caught it all. Playing back the lecture you can distinctly hear everything he states because the recorder doesn’t have the ability to decipher the hierarchy of focus. In this conductive study, he learned that people have the ability to filter through a plethora of sounds from that of which capture their attention leaving the person unaware that ambiance sounds even exist.

According to the research conducted by Don Ihde[3], Chapter 6 “The Auditory Field”, he writes of his experience during a presentation lecture and a recording. It was at this time that he noticed a differences from being present for an audio speaker to the time after when he reviewed the record from his audio device . Ihde observed how a person’s perception and focus can be directed on a single person in the auditorium. Present at the lecture he was oblivious

Art of Anatomy The study of anatomy is so much more than naming parts and understanding their function; it is the celebration of our wondrous physicality in the world. "Seated in front of a subject, make a series of drawings in rotation, observe how the functions of the body create movement." The drawings life and movement are given by the illumination of only those elements essential to the view.
