LETTER FROM THE EDITOR Welcome to our Summer finale issue. While most everybody is on back-to-work/Fall mode, we can´t help but keep our vision of a never ending Summer and seasonless magazine. This issue comes at a hard time as one of the true masters and fashion photography visionary, Peter Lindbergh has just passed away. We have always shared his idea of focusing on the models and not only on the wardrobe. The whole concept of a fashion editorial is a perfectly matched combination of the right model and the right clothing. But this is also a moment of celebration and joy, since we are able to bring you a beautiful cover story with gorgeous SOFIA JAMORA shot by PLAYBOY and GUESS photographer, Josh Ryan, and the incredible team involved in this project. In addition to that, we couldn ´t be more excited about our interview with beautiful LILIMAR HERNANDEZ. For those who work hard, dreams definitely come true. And lastly, our inmense gratitude goes to each and one of all the passionate professionals who have made this issue possible. YOU ARE THE BEST! THANK YOU!! JOSE-MARIA JIMENEZ Editor-in-Chief QPmag

hat was it like growing up in Nueva Esparta, Venezuela ? They were probably my favourite headline tours so far! The US was cool because I was playing headline shows for the first time in a lot of the cities. It was really cool getting to see everyone’s face whilst playing and get to know them a bit before. The UK was amazing because they were pretty big venues and we had a lot of special guests which made it even more exciting. I also had an all-female line up at these shows and I hope people discovered a lot of new artists through that because I feel like there’s so many girls in pop that people are yet to discover. What really caught your eye for acting at such a young age? I always had a thing for performing, really. Even when I was back in Venezuela, I would watch my favorite cartoons and pretend to be one of the characters, or make up my own and have my own lines! Although, when I took my first acting class is when I really understood that this had to be what I dedicate myself to for the rest of my life. It felt fun, it was so interesting, I felt like I was in the right place doing the right thing for myself. I felt incredibly happy portraying a character.
seemed so crazy, fun, and full of life. It honestly still is. It was definitely a culture shock in certain aspects, but my family and I were just so incredibly happy to be living through that moment that when we think back to everything we went through during those first few years in LA, we can only think back with smiles and laughter. Do you prefer TV acting or film acting? It depends on the script, character, and if I really connect with it honestly. I do usually prefer film acting just because you’re constantly exploring and creating different characters with each film you’re in, rather than keeping one consistent character. With films, you’re also constantly changing worlds, situations, etc. Although, there’s always tv shows that just keep you shocked and guessing with every episode, and as an actor, I like to feel that way too.
"I feel incredibly happy portraying a character"
What is your favorite childhood memory? I think one of my favorite memories is when my mom and I stayed in LA for about 3 months, which back then, was the longest we’d had stayed out of Miami. When we came back, our family and closest friends surprised us at our house with balloons, a homemade cake, and a huge welcome back sign! We were so giggly, and just so happy to see everyone again and be home. What was it like to move to L.A. at just 13 to star as Sophie in the Nickelodeon show “Bella And The Bulldogs”? It was a rollercoaster ride, that’s for sure. We never would’ve imagined that I would make it to LA at that young of an age. All we had was the hope that once I was older, I would go and explore and see if I could actually achieve something... luckily, it was all meant to be. When my mom and I got here, everything just
39
When it comes to voice acting how do you like to get into your character? Much like regular TV or film acting, I like to think about my character’s personality, their reactions to certain situations, their thought process, etc. I’ll ask myself questions like “how would they say this?,” “is this something that would upset them or make them happy?,” “how would they talk to this person based on their experiences with them,” etc. It’s also always nice to get opinions from the writers or director on how we can keep the character true to themselves. How long have you done gymnastics for? I started when I was 10 and did it until I was about 13, which was when I moved out to LA for Bella and the Bulldogs :) Honestly, I haven’t gotten much time to practice since then at all, so I’m probably pretty rusty now except for my cartwheels and round offs haha! What does the art of dance mean to you? It’s a form of expression really, almost like acting. I always feel 100% in the moment, and I feel free, happy. No matter what genre of dance, there’s just something about it that is so liberating and beautiful. Plus, it’s always so fun to dance with others and just feel the music together!

Do you have any special rituals your practice for warming up before shooting a scene? I always have music on before doing anything! If I’m waiting to be called in for a scene, for example, I’ll usually be in my dressing room chilling and listening to music. It just really relaxes me and puts me in a happy mood, and I like to keep that positive mood up throughout the day! I also always run the lines over and over again in my head to just make sure I got it all down so that when we shoot, the process can go smoothly. What was it like growing up in the acting and model industry? While I do feel like I had to mature quicker than other regular kids at school, I wouldn’t have it any other way. I always wanted this, and I was more than happy to work hard for it. There’s definitely a lot of competition, stress, late nights, etc within this industry, but I didn’t mind going through it all in order to achieve my biggest dream. I still don’t mind. With all this mentioned, I still had an absolutely amazing childhood. I had fun with my friends, I visited amazing places, I met wonderful mentors, I checked things off my bucket list that I never even thought would be on my bucket list, etc. What do you do to destress after a busy day? I love to read and listen to music. Music can honestly take you to a different world, I feel like... it always calms me, or puts me in a happy mood. Reading’s also one of my absolute favorite things to do, and it’s so easy to get lost in a good story and feel all the emotions of the characters. Although, I must mention, what really de-stresses me throughout the entire day is my family. My fam are my best friends, and they get me like no other, so they definitely know how to lighten the mood and constantly keep me happy.
What is your skincare routine?
I have annoyingly sensitive skin, so I’ve definitely been through a long product journey in order to get to the ones that really work well for me haha! I use my cleanser, toner, serum, & hydrating cream every day in the mornings and at night. I also love doing face masks
QP
often throughout the week, as well as eye masks for my purple, designer eye bags ya know? It’s really important to pay attention to how your skin reacts to everything so that you can really choose the best products for it. How would you describe your personal style? To be quite honest, there really isn’t one specific way to describe my style other than, maybe, experimental. I like to wear a look today that can be completely different from the look tomorrow. I like to wear things I feel comfortable, yet extremely confident in. I like to wear things that match the vibe of the place I’m heading to but still stands out. There’s always something I want to express through my style, so I wear things that convey that mood. What was it like winning Best Young Actress Award from Imagen Foundation back in 2015? When my name was announced for the award, I honestly was completely shocked. It’s like I heard my name but it didn’t really register in my mind? I honestly just sat there with the most stupid look on my face until my mom and my friend Isabela snapped me out of it haha! I had been so ready to cheer on any of my friends that were also nominated and didn’t prepare any type of speech, so let’s just say it was an honor and an extremely pleasant surprise. What can we expect from the iconic Lilimar in the near future? Aww! You can’t see me at the moment but the word “iconic” definitely put a smile on my face haha! Well, I will be in South Korea for the first time ever around the end of July for a popular dance camp that I was invited to participate/be a special guest on and I’m still squealing!! I can’t wait to share all about that soon once I’m there :) other than that, there is a VO project that we just finished making and we’re so stoked for it to come out soon! & also, I will be shooting in Boston for a small appearance in a really cool film that I’m also thrilled for everyone to see... I’m so grateful that all of this is happening at the moment and that those around me have been so supportive. Also, thank YOU guys for this interview :)

TRAVEL
Discover M
MAUI BY EMILIA TANEVA @bubbly.moments
aui is the second biggest island in Hawaii. Its two large mountains are connected by a stunning valley, and a number of exotic beaches can be found along all sides of the coast. The eastern side of the island is a popular area for most visitors, especially the area of Kaanapali—but more adventurous travelers will find the western portion of the island rugged and enchanting (if not a little harrowing to get to). This island paradise is also famous for whale-watching, and the colorful sea life living in its coral reefs.

DID YOU KNOW?
Maui was once a major port-of-call in the whaling industry, and hundreds of ships would berth offshore at once—turning the town of Lahaina into a sort of Wild West hub of excitement.
WHEN TO GO TO MAUI
Spring and Fall are the best times to visit Maui. The weather is perfect and the flock of summer or winter tourists has thinned out. In particular, April, May, and September through November are the best parts of the year to step off a plane and have flowers draped around your neck.

THINGS TO DO AND DISCOVER IN MAUI
There’s no shortage of things to do in “The Valley Isle.” From relaxing on the beach to driving along a roller-coaster road through the jungle, Maui offers something for every traveler.
1 TAKE A FULL DAY-TRIP
ON THE ROAD TO HANA
Hana is a small town on the eastern side of the island, and the 64-mile road to get there is one of the most breathtaking drives in the United States. Taking hairpin turns high above the pounding surf below, you’ll drive over almost 60 bridges, some of which are one-lane only. Right at the beginning of the journey, you’ll pass through the town of Paia. The laid back, surfer hippie downtown is home to art galleries, restaurants, and shops. Along the way to Hana, you can catch a glimpse of the colorful Rainbow Eucalyptus Trees; there’s an accessible grove of them by mile marker 7. If you need to step out of the car, check out the Waikamoi Ridge Trail, which offers incredible views along a walkable loop. Further down the road is another amazing place to stop, The Garden of Eden Arboretum, which you’ll find aptly named for the waterfalls, brightly colored foliage, and amazing views of the ocean. Toward the end of your journey, make sure to stop at Wailua Falls, an amazing 80-foot ribbon of fast-moving water that plummets into a small swimming hole (check local advisories to see if swimming is safe).
2 RELAX ON WAILEA BEACH
Though there are some high-end resorts in Wailea, the beach is open to the public and it's well maintained with showers, parking, restrooms, and path. If you’re staying somewhere else on the island, don’t forget to visit. Its calm waters are perfect for all types of low-key water play, whether you want to snorkel or swim. Some of the resorts will let you gain access to their pool if you buy a drink at the poolside bar. Adventurous beach-goers looking to ride the surf will probably have better luck up north in Kapalua or at Hookipa Beach. Maui's most famous surf spot for big wave surfing is Peahi, also known as "Jaws.” But by and large, most travelers will enjoy the relaxing vibes of the Wailea first-rate beach.
3 TAKE A SNORKELING TOUR OFF OF KAANAPALI, ULUA BEACH, OR HONOLUA BAY
QP
Any one of these locations will offer you an incredible experience under the waters. Avoid the choppier waters of the midday by timing your tour in the morning or afternoon. While you can always splash into the water yourself, a guided tour help you get a look at some of the islands more memorable residents, like Green Sea Turtles, Yellow Tangs, Butterflyfish, and perhaps Hawaii’s state fish, the Humuhumu-nukunuku-apua'a (that’s not a typo). A tour can also help you dive into some difficult-to-reach places, like Molokini Crater off the coast, which offers some of the most incredible snorkeling in the world. 56
4 GET AWED AT HALEAKALA NATIONAL PARK
Hawaii is one of the only places where you can get up-close and personal with ancient volcanoes, after all, the islands are made from their cooled lava. Haleakala National Park offers amazing vistas of an enormous volcanic crater that’s almost seven miles wide (don't’ worry, it’s not active). The barren landscape doesn’t seem to fit in with the rest of the island, but once you wind your way down to the black volcanic sounds of Kipahulu, you’ll feel like you’re back in Maui again. Haleakala is home to more endangered species than any other park in the United States. Also, because of its altitude, the park’s observatory provides an unparalleled place for astronomers to gaze at the stars.
5 GET YOUR SWING ON AT
ONE OF MAUI’S AMAZING GOLF COURSES
If you or someone you’re traveling with loves golf, you probably know that you can’t take the golf course out of the golfer. Maui has some incredible golf courses so you won’t have to worry about that. The Wailea Resort Association has great greens like the Emerald, Gold, and Blue courses, all of which are in close proximity to the restaurants and hotels of the area. Though Kaanapali only has one course, it boasts 36 holes with scenic ocean views. The Plantation Course in Kapalua is one of the most highly-ranked places to golf in the world...which is fitting because the Ritz-Carlton is right nearby. There are a few other courses in the valley that runs down the middle of the island, and though they don’t offer ocean views, they do offer some stunning mountain scenery.

6 FEAST IT UP AT THE OLD LAHAINA LUAU
For those who haven’t experienced it, a luau is a fascinating cultural experience that is uniquely Hawaiian. Think barbecued pig...slow cooked underground all day. You’ll get to try some other traditional foods like poi and Pan-Asian selections like stir-fry vegetables. If you’re not a fan of roasted oink, there are plenty of other options at this friendly feast. As you eat, you’ll get to hear live Hawaiian music and see the graceful movement of the hula dancers, whose movements are a unique form of island storytelling. The best part for some is the open bar where you can grab tropical libations like a Lava Flow, Blue Hawaii, or Hawaiian Sunset. After the show, see if you can spell Aloha backwards while dancing the hula in a straight line...
7 RELAX ON WAILEA BEACH
Right in the heart of historic Lahaina is a park that looks like it’s full of trees, but it’s actually only one tree: a Banyan Tree. Banyan trees work their way underground and then pop out again, creating a network of multiple trunks. The one in Lahaina is the largest in the United States, with over 16 trunks. It’s 60 feet high and covers an incredible (almost) 2 acres—that’s roughly the size of a standard city block. The tree was planted way back in 1873, which now makes it almost a century and a half old. It’s been cared for and tended to over the years by Lahaina’s own residents, who view it as a sort of symbol of the town. Don’t miss a chance to sit on a bench in the shade created by its network of branches.

WHERE TO EAT IN MAUI
Beer lovers and foodies alike will find common ground in the laid-back but clean ambiance of Monkeypod Kitchen by Merriman, which is located in Wailea and in the Whaler’s Village Shopping Mall by the waters of Kaanapali. There’s live music multiple times a day, from 1:00 PM to 9:00 PM. This is a great venue for those who want to have some fun, but keep it relaxed and perhaps low key, It’s also family-friendly. Hawaii is a longtime place for Western and Eastern traditions to meet, and food is no exception. If you want to taste some of the best sushi outside of Japan, pull up a seat at Sansei Seafood Restaurant & Sushi Bar, which also has two locations—one just north of Wailea in the Kihei Town Center, and another in the dramatic headlands of Kapalua, down the street from the Ritz Carlton. Quality and freshness come together in exquisite presentation for those who love both raw and cooked treasures of the sea. If you’re looking for the oceanfront dining that’s supposed to be part of every vacation to the islands, look no further than Lahaina Fish Co. It’s been open for 25 years, serving fresh, organic food. This is also a great place to go if you’re vegan, vegetarian, or gluten-free. If you want to try some Ahi, Mahi-Mahi, Monchong, or Opah, this is the place to catch it—freshly caught by local fishermen. If you dine between noon and 5:00 PM, you can catch some $6.50 Mai-Tais.
59
QP
If you’re looking for something with a little more local flair, check out the Fish Market Maui, which is just down the street from a lot of the resorts in Kaanapali. Local fishermen bring in the raw materials for building an awesome menu of dine-in or takeout options. Sandwiches, chowders, tacos, fish burgers, and Poke (a unique raw fish salad) are just some of the offerings crafted from the bounty of the sea. They also make party and cocktail platters if you’re throwing a little shindig back at your hotel room. You won’t really get a good look at how your meal is prepared at some of the trendier restaurants on the island, so if you’re not averse to getting a little “behind-the-counter” peek, you can find it here...without having to put on a snorkel. If you need something sweet to help you cool off, check out Ululani's Hawaiian Shave Ice. With over six locations on the island, there’s probably one near wherever you’re staying. This local chain was actually started as a family business by a couple who always enjoyed eating shaved ice. The shaved ice treat originated with Japanese plantation workers, who would literally shave off flakes from a solid block of ice and smother them in juice or syrup. They’ve improved upon the shaved iced menu at Ululani’s, which has expanded to include 45 flavors. Some of the more memorable ones are Wedding Cake, Pickled Mango, and Tiger’s Blood. With all these fantastic eateries, don’t forget to try out the local brews crafted by the Maui Brewing Company. In addition to their availability in most restaurants, you can also take a 45-minute tour of the brewery and try samples in the tasting room.
CONCLUSION
Maui is really the best of both worlds for visitors to Hawaii. While Kauai may be too rugged for some, and Oahu too popular for others, the island of Maui is the perfect meeting point between all sides of a vacation. It’s great for all types of travelers, from couples on a Honeymoon getaway to families with young kids. There are activities of every type, whether you want to swim, surf, snorkel, golf, shop, or dine. Above all, visitors to the island will enjoy an amazing sense of Aloha they can take back home with them...if they ever want to leave.

THE HOLLYWOOD CONSPIRATOR
GET COMPLACENT, AND YOUR COMPETITION WILL BE KNOCKING ON THE DOOR By LYNN VENTURELLA @lynnventurella
FX is the latest network that seems to be knocking on that door. FX is an American pay television channel owned by the The Walt Disney Company and located at the 20th Century Fox lot in Century City. Originally launched on June 1, 1994, the network is finally becoming a force in the incredible competitive world of television. Not afraid to take a risk they have created and produced some of the most groundbreaking shows on television. With mature themes and content, high-quality writing, directing and acting their shows are a standout in a sea of mediocrity.
F or many years great shows like SONS OF ANARCHY, THE SHIELD, NIP/TUCK and IT'S
ALWAYS SUNNY IN PHILADELPHIA were created by FX. Slowly but surely they have created a strong and consistent lineup that has finally made them a force to be reckoned with. Watch out for FX to continue to grow in strength and popularity as they have more strong shows slated for this September than any other network.
Shows to watch on FX in September are SNOWFALL. MAYANS and AMERICAN HORROR STORY. On NETFLIX, watch for the September release of THE POLITICIAN, starring Ben Platt and Gwyneth Paltrow and the final season of GLITCH (Season 3). HBO has MARY QUEEN OF SCOTS and Season 3 of THE DEUCE. AMAZON also has some good watching in September with VICTORIA (Season 3) and the final season of their groundbreaking show TRANSPARENT. NEED TO GET OUT OF THE HOUSE! The September releases of THE FANATIC with John Travolta and RUNNING WITH THE DEVIL starring Nicolas Cage and Lawrence Fishburne could certainly be worth a trip to the movies.
