hare with us a time you had to model but the shoot had particular challenges. How did you overcome them? What kind were they? Explain.
Every profession has its ups and downs, so does fashion modeling. It’s not all about the glamour, make up, photo sessions, and magazine covers. It's backstage teamwork, location, to be at 6 am, heavy bags, no time for breakfast, weather. Shoot the same looks 10 times to get one good picture. But I must say that all these moments unite the team and give so many emotions. And a smile on the face after the job is done. If you could spend the day with any designer (dead or alive) who would you pick and why? Well, it would be a legend queen as a Coco Chanel, a maestro as Yves Saint Laurent, because it’s history, classy elegant, or Ralph Lauren, an American ICON. And of course, Lora Piano, Brunello Cucinelli, modern classic fashion with minimalistic “easy to wear and go“. How do you incorporate fashion into most areas of your life?
If the journey to achieve something becomes too tedious, it will be more challenging to succeed. Learning what you are capable of can be fun and exciting, so it is important to keep your goals light and fun in order to have an emotionally positive experience and keep moving forward without losing perspective. What does beauty mean to you? What is the first thing you notice about someone usually?
“Fashion is part of our life. It organically fits into our weekdays, adding diversity in style and mood.”
Fashion is part of our life. Fashion organically fits into our weekdays, adding diversity in style and mood. Style is a kind of business card when you meet someone and makes us unique. For example, a sports uniform for athletes has become a big fashion catalog but also a vivid example of how to play sports with style, complemented by accessories. Now, playing sports is not only physical fatigue. It is, first of all, beautifully selected uniforms in addition to accessories. Do you have any advice for other young fashionistas on the rise? What is the best advice you were ever given? My advice for young fashionistas it's to not overdo it, to be in harmony with yourself, and to enjoy the process of your favorite work. And the fruits of your labor will
39
not keep you waiting. The best advice I ever heard is: “Have fun along the way”.
Beauty for me has always been groomed healthy skin, with a beautiful smile, natural fresh look with little makeup. In addition to the sophistication of your vocabulary as well as kindness. I guess the first impression it’s kindness. It makes everyone warm and welcome. Tell us more about who you are when you are not working.
Well, I prefer to be as simple as possible. I'm a young lady who loves this life and has a big passion. I want to enjoy my life fully. I love spending my time with a lot of activities, traveling, learning new stuff. I love adventure. Visiting a museum or art gallery, wine tasting, and spending time with interesting people. And I'm a big supporter of feminine energy and beauty.
What comes next? I'm always planning. I have a project I'm working on and hopefully, it will ready soon. But pretty much I have a busy schedule which makes me happy and able to be creative. I stick to a schedule when I'm working on my goals. I give myself challenges according to my calendar. But sometimes your creativity takes time and at that moment you realize how important organizing your calendar is. And, of course, I enjoy the process through its joyful and fun moments. Having something tangible is a great motivator to keep working toward success.

A FORCE TO BE RECKONED WITH Interview by ALEXANDRA BONNET @alexbonnetwrites
Let me tell you, as a woman it can get difficult I this world that still sees us as “weaker,” “more emotional,” and more. Yes, there have been many advances and positive progress but every day is an opportunity to keep promoting that and our strength! The beautiful and empowering, Miranda Rae Mayo, represents all that it means to be a strong, caring, and hardworking woman who doesn’t let anything or anyone get in her way!

laying the only female firefighter on CHICAGO FIRE, her role highlights all that comes with breaking the stereotypes of woman in the world of film ad television. Also a musician, Miranda brings love and light everywhere she goes, everywhere she sings, and everywhere she acts. Keep reading on and fill your soul with fire like no other as you learn more about Miranda Rae Mayo! You play the only female firefighter on NBC's hit TV show CHICAGO FIRE. What has that experience been like for you? Were you nervous on your first day? I feel lucky Monica Raymund was on the show when I started. Dawson paved the way for Kidd’s character. It’s been a lot of fun and challenging at times. I wanted to do an excellent job on my first day, but it was hard to be nervous with how warm everyone was. As a woman, what kind of obstacles do you face in the industry, and how do you overcome them? And in their world?
You are also a musician! How does music feed your soul? Was there a person/event that inspired you to become a singer too? I get depressed if I go too long without singing. It’s very visceral for me. I also use my voice in the mediation practices and therapy work that I do. Music is an essential part of my healing and my connection to divinity. I had this vocal jazz teacher in high school, Mrs. Bauman. I had her for one year, and she was so-mebody who encouraged me and made me believe that I could sing.
“I am a multidimensional being having an experience as a human and having a lot of fun while doing it.”
Pace! These sets move so fast, and at times it makes me want to scream and cry all at the same time. The biggest thing that helps me continue to show up and keep moving amid discomfort is nurturing my relationships, keeping a meditation practice, and remembering to move slow. What kind of advice/message would you give to women reading this? And now to the men?
Ahh, I want all the women reading this to learn their bodies and what kind of touch feels good. Women are beautiful, magical creatures, and I believe we deserve to feel pleasure, delicious and loved. I want us to
57
breathe deeper into our pelvic floor and make decisions in our lives based on what feels good in our pussies. Hmm... Men... It is so sexy/loving/inspiring to be in the presence of a man who listens intently and can check the part of himself who wants to “fix.” Also, a man who can accurately communicate what he is feeling, I bow. And Nonbinary people need no advice from me. Free ass angel babies! I’m trying to get to like them.
Who are you when you are not acting or writing music?
I am a fool. Ha! I am a multidimensional being having an experience as a human and having a lot of fun while doing it. I am a friend, a sister, adaughter, acuddler, wild, sensual, social, spiritual...a hurricane.
If you could be someone for a day, who would you pick and the why?
Beyonce, hands down. Pure curiosity. I would be in awe to see how she navigates her day-to-day life. She is such an “otherworldly being” to me, and I think it would be mind-blowing to see how people treat her in her intimate life as she wakes up and goes about her day: Beyonce or someone with top security clearance at the white house. Your girl is curious.

Explain in your own words what The Eleutheromania experience is!
It originally began as a charity burlesque event where I wanted audience members and performers to feel liberated and safe in a way that was fun erotically, innocent, spiritual, and sexy all at once. My vision for the experience continues to evolve and expand, and I look forward to live performances being a part of our world again. There have been many ideas swirling amongst my production partners and myself but making sure that everyone feels safe and comfortable is essential to ensure before moving forward.
Best advice you received when growing up? Relax and breathe.
What comes next? I am shooting a movie in LA called GOING PLACES with writer and director Max Chernov; I’m very excited. Then I head to Santa Cruz for a couple of weeks to write music with two of my favorite songwriters and producers. Fingers crossed, I relax enough to release some of it after we finish. Then back to Chicago to start shooting Season 10 of CHICAGO FIRE!
