AW An artwork designed for the enrtance of a dental clinic in Santorini island. The concept follows a tooth map with the 32 teeth of a human’s mouth replaced by seashells. The color, the scheme and the tooth-enamel like of the seashell material makes them look like real teeth. The holes that some seashells have on them and the brown color that is spread through it’s an easy metaphor of common dental diseases. Though the image causes pleasant feelings as the view of the seashells has a positive sense and serves as a reminder of the sea and beaches that surrounds the famous island of Santorini.

PH Travel Photography Blog Two great passions were connected to this blog, travel and photography. Every destination offered as a large field of photographic exploration. Photos sometimes focus on nature, sometimes in architecture or on their interrelationship. *No filters or crop tools were used in any photo* lamdadot.tumblr.com

“As a child I remember me browsing the photo albums of my parents and traveling with my mind in those places. Didn’t take long to grow up a bit and make my own small and later bigger journeys. From the age of nine I had a camera to accompany me on my travel adventures. After the unfortunate loss of two cameras in Sydney Australia in the summer of 2008, it came into my hands, a few months later, a Canon Powershot. With this camera I travel from our first joint trip to Barcelona till today. The story of my blog begins with this trip and since then has been enriched with many destinations around Greece and abroad. In all destinations I turned my lens in any direction to find and isolate details, highlight repetitions, emphasize symmetries play with shapes, colors and perspective.”

Gender and sex. The doubting of their identification and the liquidity in their interrelation. The body as a participant in an internal psychological struggle between the personal and social expectations. The quest for an identity whose uniqueness confronts all constructed social and cultural standards.

EMF - Ego Masculine Feminine Installation / Digital Photography

This installation takes advantage of the use of light and the transparency of the printed paper. The three pictures that were used were standing hanging with transparent thin fishing line in the centre or the exhibition room. Some simple led lights were focused on the pictures bringing out an ambient light that was spread through the transparent paper making it look like self illuminating. The back two pictures were both a combination of two similar photos making an effect as by walking around the installation you could see only one or both the photos, depending on which side you where standing. The exhibition was only open after sunset so to preserve darkness around the installation. Photography by Kleitia Kokalari

Emfasis was given to URSULA-LAURUS (anagram) inscription and the Ursa Minor (Ursula) constellation. The URSULA-LAURUS dipole became the base of the project representing the passing from the religious past of the building (Ursula) to the new uses of it (Laurus). Both Ursa Minor constellation and laurel plant (Laurus Nobilis) used in many applications.

AW Phoenix ‌is a mythical bird with a colorful plumage and a tail of gold and scarlet. It has a 500 to 1000 year life-cycle, near the end of which it builds itself a nest of twigs that then ignites. Both nest and bird burn fiercely and are reduced to ashes, from which a new, young phoenix or phoenix egg arises, reborn anew to live again. The new phoenix is destined to live as long as its old self. The Phoenix’s ability to be reborn from its own ashes implies that it is immortal. A digital work inspired by the legend of the Phoenix. The immortal life of the mythical bird is simply represented by a never-ending cycle scheme with three colors to represent the three life stages of the bird. Yellow for the life of the bird, Red as it burns in fire and Black as it turns into ashes.

AW the Black Swan ‌ is trying to be passionate and sensual. It seduces you with abstract forms of black color into white paper. It captivates your vision in your try to recognize familiar shapes. It is mysterious, scary, beautiful, evil and attractive in the same way. Acrylic on paper / 70*100

the White Swan ‌ is trying to be perfect. At first sight is just a white paper but schemes are visible depending on the viewers point of view. Originally is better visible in sunlight (where the white swan acts). Disvisibility of the white paint is also representing the suicide the color commits as it tries to be as perfect as the perfect white paper. Acrylic on paper / 70*100
